Looking For Next One
Just checking to see if anybody is interested in planning a CSR rendezvous for next year. Maybe sometime in June? We are spread out maybe someplace central like "land between the lakes"? Or would it be better to have regional one?

There have been several RVD's in the East and Gulf coast. I know Va had a couple and I have particpated in two, PCB and Lake Murray.

I would love to do the "Land between the Lakes" but that is a long distance that just can not be done over a weekend for a lot of people.

How far do you think a good towing distance would be.

Got any suggestions on a location?

Greetings

I would think about a 250 mile radius would be good for a weekend trip. Figuring some people have to work Friday until five or so, 250 miles is about a four hour pull at 60 mph and they would arrive at about 10pm Friday night.

That would give everyone Friday night for a meet and greet, all day Saturday and most of Sunday to boat and have a good time. Personally I work every other weekend so I am sure the get together will be on my weekend off and I would hope to arrive early.

Have a great day

Paul

The one we had July 4th was about 4 hours for me from Midway and I think about 6 hours for Richard from Thomasville and we had 5 days there due to some arranging by most of us with vacation days and the holiday. I do agree that 250 mile radius would be about all anyone would be able to undertake for just a weekend.

We may want to do some smaller regional ones. Let here some sugguestin on locations.

Jacksonville Fl would make a good place for a gathering, there are quite a few that are in driving range for a weekend trip. Richard and I talked about this a little on the phone last night there is a lot of water to explore. A trip down the St Johns River, spend the night and back the next day, would require a motel with docking or a marina close to a motel since most of us would be in day boats.

St Johns River sounds neat  , would we want to do it earlier before the bugs show up bad? The palm resort sounded interesting here is their link

Great Topic Chuck.
I was going to bring up a Rendezvous and potential cruise for next summer here in Puget Sound, San Juan islands and Canadian Gulf Islands in the NW. There is some interest it seems from the Oregon gang and a few from Eastern WA. It would be a great trip, but like you said it would be tough to do a national one simply because of the logistics to fit the boat in a suitcase :smt017

I agree on a national one. Looks like we may have to go with some smaller regional one. Still looking for some good suggestions.

Charleston could be a possibility, even though I have family living there I know very little about the area, water and what there is to do on the water or where to stay, I know they have brown water just like we do in SE Ga but that is about it.

Ok any thoughts on when the 2007 Rendezvous will be held? Just asking so maybe I can plan ahead on vacation days, I have to plan out my time for the year due to a Saturday work schedule that gets planed for the year. There may be others that need to plan ahead also. If no thoughts yet I will plan and hope to change to fit it in as I did in 2006.

Midway

Good idea!! I too work weekends and have to plan ahead. I will talk with my sweet wife tonight and check back with a vote later today. Do I get two votes since my wife is helping decide?

Have a great day

Paul

Ok, I'll start the vote off with: Jacksonville.

Chad who?...........

I vote for Panama City for several reasons. The area is great for families with a lot to see and do other than boating in case of bad weather. Plenty of excellent restaurants. The area is truly a boating paradise with all types of water. There are barrier islands and lots of protection for small boat owners so they don't have to deal with sea conditions. and finally, my boat is too danged big to go to a rendevouz elsewhere.

Well let's see. If you like crystal clear water, white sugar sand beaches and escapes to barrier islands as Frank mentioned, Panama City/FL Panhandle gets my vote. It's well worth the extended drive for some of us in my opinion!
