Hi all,

We have a 2022 265 Sundancer and on our last trip out the sump pump went into a continuous cycle after being activated by the faucet in the galley, I deactivated it using the trip as it wouldn’t stop cycling.
I can’t seem to find the access point to get to the pump, any ideas?

thanks in advance

Given it's an EU model, it's hard to say without pictures as I don't know that model . But generally, there will either be a section of stair tread that lifts up or a small section of a floor that lifts out.

Thank you for your reply
There is a section of carpeted flooring at the base of the step leading up into the cockpit next to the heads and that would be the logical place. It doesn’t lift up, but it moves slightly at opposing corners. I can’t see any other access point that there could be.
The EU models are built in Poland and there has been some QC issues with other SR boats alongside ours, so maybe, it’s another issue to be dealt with…
Thanks again, appreciate the response.

If this "section" is about the size of a small access hatch, that's probably it. Grab the carpet and lift it up (the "lift it out" part I referenced). It would just be laid in place under friction.

We tried that, the step and carpet are firmly attached to…something. I feel it’s a slip in manufacturing, there are a number of issues with the boat including wiring, pipe runs etc, so I suspect this is another one to add to the list. The supplying dealer is pulling his hair out, SR in the EU are not doing the global brand any favours. We are looking to trade up and fancy a 320, but we may start looking at other EU centric brands if SR don’t get a move on. It’s a small tough market, a lot can go wrong with a brand very quickly if negative PR leaks into the SM platforms…

A 2022 is under warranty, if you can’t find it call the sales / service office, they should point you in the right direction without having to come out / charge you a fee. For the board please let us know. Pics are always a plus

addendum:
Sorry just saw your above post.

No worries, I really appreciate the replies from experienced SR owners. I agree that the sump is probably under this step, it makes sense, but it won’t budge even putting my back into it.

Often there is a small, black nylon strap used as a "pull tab" to pull that panel up. Chances are, whoever last put that panel in place didn't leave the strap sticking up. Pull harder or use a screwdriver to pry it up.
