Any ideas?

My new to me boat has these two metal tabs near the stern on either side and I have no idea what they are. Anybody else have any idea? They don’t appear to have anything to do with the current camper canvas and the broker hasn’t been much help. TIA

Are they tapered on the long edges?
They could be for removable bimini frame mounts

I am at GIM, I’ll have to look up Tom. The two plates are smooth with rounded edges. Haven’t tried a magnet yet but I don’t get the sense that they are iron. No grooves or lip like it’s meant to have something slide on. They appear symmetrically placed on either side but the angles are weird as well. They only keep me up because I can’t compute their purpose.

Yeah, got that email. Sounds like it will be the middle of next week before they have it fixed. The bigger PITA is the road/bridge work underway on 31. Hope that work moves along or it will be a real cluster once the summer traffic arrives.

Can you contact the prior owner? Otherwise if everything goes up (Bimini, camper cover, whatever) it might be time to remove and fill the holes.

Yep, put the camper on last night and it makes no use of them. I guess I’ll just have to add it as item 1035 to the list of things to accomplish.

Thanks for the feedback. I figure if this group is stumped then its probably something pretty specific to a PO’s needs that are no longer there.

Yeah...this will be my eighth season at Grand Isle. I think there's been maybe 3 years where there hasn't been some kind of driving obstacle getting to/from the marina.

Still better than the great floods of 2020! Grilling over Memorial Day 2020 involved feet in water...at the docks. It was crazy...
