Leaving the marina Sunday morning and found this on the neighboring dock.

Norice there is no dock viisible, we have floating docks with our 8++ tides here.

I called the Dockmaster/Mgr immediately to notify. Unfortunately I had brought our submersable pump home two weeks ago for a project and did not bring it back, so not much help from my end.
Later, he called and explained: The owner left a cast net on/near the center piling. It in turn got caught in the rollers and locked the dock down so it could not raise with the tide. The incoming tide raised the boat sideways, with the dock holding the port side down. The only thing that kinda saved it was his buds boat on the inside that was tied to the SB side. They got it pumped and on the trailer at least. Not a good day for him.

Well at least it was not an inboard boat with a cabin or engine room to be swamped. I can't imagine there being too much damage to worry about. Luck for him it did not affect his neighbor on the same finger, that would really suck!

Yesterday we asked where dock friends of ours were as there 31' Silverton was gone and a pontoon in its spot. Lady said she heard it sunk. Hmmm....we are on B dock nd they are right across from us on c dock but we hadn't been there in 2 weeks from being sick. So not sure if it is true or how bad it was

Seems like I am seeing a lot of sinking boats these days. Seems to be one a week in the Chicago harbors.

That’s not a bad day….. a bad day is when your mechanic is in the bildge fixing your vaccuflush and a solenoid and pulling a new hose from forward head….. and I get the bill…for two days of work… that’s a bad day
Port engine for you guys that know the gong show of getting down there let alone pulling a hose. I opted to sit in a bar and watch

first pic he is down there on the left. I removed the aluminum beam for him. ….. such a aweful job

@Blueone Did they remove the exhaust tube to give more room?
No I removed the aluminum channel because I wanted to get down there. Ya my body immediately said pay someone you cheap phuckr. The two mechanics hopped down there like a rabbit going down a rabbit hole. I left them a moving blanket to lay over the engine and they said no thanks….. to be young again
They struggled with the bulk head caulk for 3 hours….. or $300. But there was 2 so who knows…. When I checked on them at 3:00 there were 4 golf carts in front of my boat which means 4 mechanics. I’m little scared right now :)

My wife and I changed all the Poo lines on our old 450 and on the 55 when we got it. Hardest job on the boat I ever done. You won't believe the difference it will make, in a good way. Now you will notice the smell on your friends boat when you visit.

You guys have to appreciate what this forum has to offer by now. The CSR collective has managed to turn a thread about a boat sinking (partially) into a rousing discussion about poop hoses and black water treatment.

Show me another place on the interwebs with this kind of capability!!??

:)

Hey in my defense it was a sinking boat and a bad day….. that was about as far as this thread was going to go. So I threw in another way to have a bad day. So I say I stayed on topic :)

That's a solid point. Very solid point.

I was just waiting for a post with a link to buy the carters crap powder, to be honest. Then some comment on Prime Days having a sale on the stuff. Then....well then we'd have fully diverged I'd say :)

Actually, you had a good day. Sitting at the bar watching all the action. It's your mechanics that had the crappy day, literally. :)
