Battery Question for the Knowledgeable

I have had 0 luck with the Sam's Duracells. Haven't had a single one of the three I have purchase last more than a year. Interstates have been great, so I'll stick with those. $50 more than the Duracells, but they last 3x longer. YMMV.

That is weird....I put a Group 31 in a 260DA and sold the boat with 3 years on the battery. I am running 5-Group 27s now for 20 months with good success...Running them in the cars and truck as well.

+1 but I buy mine from Batteries Plus. I consistently get 3-4 seasons on my Duracells. For the money I've been very pleased with the brand.

I just installed Group 31 AGMs from X2 Power (through Batteries Plus). Not cheap, but 1150 CCA and 1000AH each is good. Got good performance from these batteries.

Installed X2 AGM's on my 400DA around 2016. The owners still have them in use today without issue. Back then the X2 AGM's had a six year full replacement warrantee. Not a good pic but here they are being installed on that boat. I will say that the Pronautic 50 Amp charger really was challenged getting them initially charged; it tripped on overtemp three times before they were topped up.

The Sam's are replacing Intimidator's from 2014...

We shall see how these go.

As I said YMMV, but I am glad they are working out for someone. You sure can't beat the price. I am sure just bad luck for me. Last one I bought I had to take out of the boat and return it to Sam's under warranty because it would not take a charge. Now I have an Interstate deep cycle and Duralast cranking battery. I have always had good luck with Interstate in the boat. Unfortunately I couldn't find any Group 27 or 31 cranking batteries near me, all the dealers were out with no ETA on new inventory. So I went with Duralast because they have done well in our cars so I thought I'd try their marine version.
