Looking at a 2009 290 SLX to purchase. The floor in the center of the boat has a high crown.
Makes sense for water drainage but it seems excessive. Is this normal or is it a structural issue.

I can't say I've ever seen that... and I've seen A LOT of Sea Ray's (and boats, in general). I've been on pretty much every single model 14' to 35' over the last couple decades (and some larger). The floor should not have any noticeable crown. I don't know where you are located, but could it be freeze damage? Would have to have been a lot of water, of course. Unless you can provide a number of pictures that clearly show the crown, you'll be best off to get the boat surveyed.

Thanks for your reply. I think I'll try contact SeaRay engineering.

After re-reading your reply, I guess I was misleading. Actually, I maybe shouldn't call it a "crown".
The center of the boat floor seems flat but it drops off considerably to both sides.
It reminds me of a house with a settling foundation...level in the center but sloping to the walls.
Maybe that's the way it's engineered?

The "camber" or slope from center to side shouldn't be very noticable because all it needs to do is drain water......the wider the beam the less noticable the camber will be. For example on my 450DA, the cockpit deck looks flat, but there is a slight camble of a few degrees.

There are various formulae on Google for measuring and determining camber, so try to see what is normal before calling Sea Ray.

Thank you!!

It's OK - I understood what you meant. But it definitely shouldn't be something where you step on the boat and notice it right away. Really, for the most part, it shouldn't be something that is noticeable. Can you put a 6' or 7' straight edge on the floor and take a picture for us?

The boat is 30 miles from me in storage but after hearing what you have said as well as others I've talked to, I'm going to pass on this boat. When I walk from the center of the boat to the port side, it's actually uncomfortably noticeable that I'm going downhill. The boat only has 139 hrs but I think it has some real issues. Thanks for you help and expertise.
