I have a Cruisair unit with the SMRIV control panel. My temp reading is wacky. Say my cabin temp reads like 57*, if I turn down the temp to say 55* to kick on the AC, it goes on. Then cabin temp reading starts going up to the correct temp, say 67*. the unit goes off and starts dropping the inside temp 1* at a time till it goes back down to 55*. Anyone know what would cause this? Temp probe? Thanks

Cold air down low (I assume water still pretty cold on LI), and once it starts moving, it mixes the warmer air from higher in the cabin in.

If you can access the setting, you can have the fan run continuously to circulate the air, or move the thermostat to a location higher in the cabin.

Explain system reset please. My bridge air worked fine Sunday for a while then iced up. What makes that happen? Salon air has the pump turn on, and compressor will turn on too but no air is blowing.

So the temp probe is mounted on the bottom outside of the coil on the unit. When the unit has been off for a while the panel reads the correct temp. If I lower the temp the ac comes on and shuts off where I set it. Then at that point keeps dropping. I noticed that the coil is cold now and that's why. By the time the coils gets warm it's past the temp I set it for in the cabin, so it won't turn on. I mover the temp sender away from the coil and now it seems correct. Question is why this year after 7 years does it do this?

First what mode is the display set? The "Temp" key has three modes for how the display reads. Set Point, Room, and Alternating.
Secondly, what is the setting for the compressor restart differential? This the amount of room temperature change that the compressor starts. Check that it is somewhere between 1.5 and 2 degrees F. This is in the Programming mode which is in your manual.
The fan really needs to be running 24/7 and when the compressor is not running the fan can be set to a low speed. This is in the Programming mode also.
You can also do a temperature calibration for the temp probe. I found one of mine needed to be adjusted five degrees. That procedure is in the manual also.
Lastly to do a factory reset press OFF, SET, and Fan buttons at the same time then press SET.

- Alternating so I can see it change
-2 degree differential. It starts again lowering it
- Last 4 years had the fan turn off with compressor. Never had a problem.
- Have a separate probe in the same location as AC unit. They match
- Did a factory reset

Once the compressor turns off, I assume the probe is picking up the coil temp. That's why it keeps going down. I moved the probe above the coil on the plastic air output part and seems to work. Once the unit shuts off, it won't keep dropping in temp.
