I currently have a 9’6 dinghy on the front of my boat, but can’t see over it very well.
What is the best davit system that will allow access to my boat?

Platform is standard size.

we really like the H20 from Hurley. It would work well on your 340. We have it on our 410 with a 10'3" RIB.

How big is your outboard? I ran Weaver Snap Davits with a 10'2" Zodiak + a 3.5hp Tohatsu for a few years. The downside is having to remove the outboard every time you want the dinghy up. The upside is how simple the whole thing is (+ an outboard mount).

Hurley is a much nicer option if you don't want to deal with the outboard every time, for sure.

that's the perfect pic for this thread, looks like a Hurley H20 (or similar) right beside you

We have a Honda 2.3hp.
The h20 seems to make boarding difficult

The H3O makes for easy, quick retrieval, with the swiveling base, extension winch and handle.

Take a look at the on line videos.

I'm running a 10' Achielles sport air floor with a suzuki 2.5 hp 4 stroke

I can leave the motor on the dink for travelling.

Despite the claims from Hurley, I had to make some modifications to the factory system to allow for the air floor dink. If I ever move up to a fiberglass floored dinghy, those modifications can be removed in a few minutes. (2 pool noodles, a large fender and a couple of lines)

I have an aortic aneurism - like John Ritter, RIP, and have to limit my lifting/straining. This is the best overall alternative for me.

@BillinPA Hurley makes the most davits and their best one @Maybe A Dancer was describing, the H3O with a crank or electric slide on winch. They also make the slide on H2O. But if you can't do those as mentioned the weaver davits do work well, except the engine would have to be removed and put somewhere, like on a mount on the platform as in the photo posted above.

Good catch on the H3O - i just edited my post.

A serious consideration with a small dink motor is the internal fuel tank.

Storage options off the dink are limited due to the potential gasoline expansion/leaking/fumes.

On a diesel, can't even store it vertically in the engine room due to the possibility of fumes collecting in the bilge.

A transom bracket can always be mounted, but then there goes some decent access/egress space.

EVERYTHING in boating is a TRADEOFF !

Another advantage of the Hurley is that when not using the dink you have nearly no obstructions on the swim platform to deal with.
