So the little lady and I needed to go do some shopping. We made plans to go see a movie and out to dinner. On the 30 minute drive something magical happened...

I say"why not drive and find out"!

Yes a couple times a week, but its only a 5 minute drive for me

Looks like you two had a great time

Jason, When I first got the 30ft I use to sleep on it some winter weekends.

I would take my pro-cat propane heater & a 30pk beer turn-up the tunes and just relax.

My boat is shrinkwrapped out in the field in front of my house. There is a door in the shrinkwrap. I spend an hour or so almost every day in the boat. Sometimes I lug out a battery, plug in the chartplotter and plot a route I want to take next summer. Yeah... I nuts.

You know you could do that on a laptop in front of the fire while drinking a glass of your favourite poison, don't you Pete?

Yes, but...... there's a door in the shrinkwrap...

Went to the marina today. Ran the engines & genny, changed the transmission oil, replaced the engine zincs, removed the TV from the forward berth so I can replace it next weekend, cleaned up the ER a bit, tightened hoses, etc. if the Niners were not playing tomorrow I would still be there!

My wife and I are equally obsessed with boating. Not a day goes by without talking about or planning something boat related for next summer. Glad to see so many others that share this.

It happens to me all the times. I often take my car and drive to the boat just to check if it is there. spend some time there and think about modifications to make... :smt021

Hey Jason, That brings back memories of when we lived in Delaware and kept the boat in Maryland. We would get in the car and go visit the boat in Chesapeake City when the bay was an ice block, stop along the way for some cold beverages and then have dinner at our favorite spot on the C and D canal.

This is one time I'm glad to be a trailer boater. My La$t Dollar sits in the back yard under a shed. I can look out any back window and see her sitting there waiting for Spring. When I get up and mossey into the bathroom for the 4:00 AM pee I pull back the blinds and look out. My son says this is not fair, his Sea Ray sits beside the house under a shed and he can't see it as easy. My wife says I'm a sick man. But it did answer the question of why the blinds are always cracked open in the bathroom.

Every time I go out of the house, I go by the marina. Nope, it's not on the way anywhere, I just enjoy seeing the boats and water.

We use to have a "Ice Watchers Club".....some of the guys would meet at the Boat Club every Saturday morning and cook breakfast and watch the river and shoot the bull. They would use the propane heaters to warm up the kitchen area and small electric heaters to keep the plumbing from freezing....also let the water drip a bit. A few of them have passed away so we now winterize the building and close the main gate to keep out the yayhoos that want to play in the snow. We use to plow the road for emergency access for the fire company to access the river but they have not requested it lately. My boat is outside our bedroom window sleeping in it's winter huge carport. We still have our monthly Board Meetings (15 of us) all winter off site and have a few cold ones and dinner.....just fun talking boats all year, Mike.

My My I figured that's what it was. Where do you live????
Tony Montana used to be my neighbor... hahaha..

I'm glad I'm not alone... I remeber the days of the trailer boat... good times... it will be warm before we know it... right

Ours is about a 30 minute drive. Snuck out last Sunday night and spent the night. Surprising amount of winter activity there, our dockmates are pretty frequent visitors...as are we. We are undergoing something of a monsoon season and if it isn't raining, its cold and wet, making any real boat driving time suboptimal, but we still are either visiting the boat, or plotting the next visit, or planning spring commissioning, every single friggin' miserable cold and rainy day.

Going on a month since I last visited the boat, I think that's the longest span since we've owned it. Going next saturday to pull the props off for a little repair and tweaking before it's sold!
