Hi all - I'm a first time Sundancer owner and have a 2021 320 DAO. It'll be coming out of storage in a few weeks and I've never filled the freshwater tank. I'd appreciate any help on where it's located and process to fill it. I know it's not rocket science, I just have never done it before. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It’s usually located on the gunwale. It will be a flush chrome deck fitting marked water. Use a key to open throw the hose down there …turn on…… have a beer and wait for it to over flow. Remove hose…. The vent will get rid of excess water …. You’re done. Have another beer for another job well done :)

What Blue said. Some (like me) treat their water with a little bleach if you plan on using for drinking water. There is a ratio of bleach/gallon so the water doesn't smell like bleach. Or, check with your marina to see if their water is already treated. Starbrite makes water treatment too if you look it up on Amazon. I exclusively use my fresh water tank on the boat. I never (or very rarely) use my city water hook up because access to my rear locker is blocked by my dinghy so I just fill my freshwater tank. I also use an RV type water softener while filling. May be overkill but whatever. If you fill fresh tank, use it. Don't let it sit or it will eventually get funky, especially if you are in warmer climate.

Good points from @spikedaddy99 …. I would just add we use an rv filter that attaches to the water faucet and leave it there…. We have a second on the boat to fill when away. We too don’t hookup to shore water we always use tank water… keeps it fresh.

Thank you all for the help, much appreciated!

That ratio of bleach is VERY low. Its about on tablespoon for 40 gallons. You do not want to over do it as bleach can damage some plastics and seals.

Our marina water is treated, but I do add one capful of bleach to each fill (less for a top up). It helps keep the water from getting skunky, but the best way is to use the water a lot so its being flushed a lot. I never use our shore water connection while at the marina. I always use the tank. That way it is always being reused. The shore water connection does not go into the tank, it bypasses it.

After the tank is sanitized at the start of the season, empty it once a week and refill it. You will not need to add any chemicals if you do this and the water will always taste fresh. Run the hot water tap as well so the heater does not get funky.

Too much bleach -- or it was winterized with Antifreeze -- and your wife/daughter(s) will let you know right away. Somehow they can spot it better than we can
