Fire pit on a boat

A friend of mine has one. One night I was walking over to his boat to get some new ice cubes and I could see the flickering light/flames. I was walking fast as I could without spilling my drink because I thought maybe something was wrong.

When I got there I found him and his crew sitting around his new fireplace. It was pretty neat but it was sitting above a bilge full of gas tanks.

Some men, Ya just can't reach.

Nimrod's!
For Sure, I just saw the fire I had posted. That was a brush pile from when I cleared the building site for my daughters new house. The pile was about 30'W, 16'H, 80'L. It had been sitting about 8 months, one night in the middle of the winter I got a chair and beer and touched it off. It was dead still that night, why that fire was reaching for that tree I don't know, the damage was enough it had to come down.

Something about a pontoon boat really appeals to the dumbest among us, it’s fascinating what their owners get up to…

Hey I resemble that remark….. I bought a pontoon at the Chicago boat show on a get away weekend with my wife ….. on the way home I said let’s stop at the boat show …(I don’t go to boat shows anymore for this reason) at the time we were just boatless living on a small lake …. I said look no fiberglass we just leave it on the lift all winter ….. perfect boat
We had snobby kids they didn’t want to be seen on a pontoon…. So any time they came to the pontoon …. The thing had a crazy stereo I would play this song

It would drive them crazy… Dad stop…. Dad stop is what they would say

All their friends in the yacht club were getting on their $200k wake board boats and they were on dads pontoon……. Funny as phuck

We bought a 27' pontoon when we had a gaggle of small grandkids, I think we had 6 of the 5 years old and under. It was a great boat for a bunch of little ones. Also it was light enough I could pull it behind my 5th wheel, I was way over length, but could do it all in one trip. now its 2 trips, or have my wife pull the boat with the suburban, and my sea ray is all that suburban wants.

Ordered mine. Nothing is safe, only safer. See, it says ‘safer’.

Hadn't seen this thread till this morning, and this made me laugh because day before yesterday my neighbor was telling me her brother put a fireplace in his popup camper! o_O

It's okay. Pontoon boats can't burn to the waterline. It is completely safe.

After the floor burns away they end up with 2 smaller boats to hang on to until help arrives.
