I thought I would start a thread to post great songs from your past that are not well known from lesser known bands. I was inspired by listening to this one, which is a cover of Marshall Tucker, but adapted by an eastern Canadian band, the Matt Minglewood band. If you like the original, I think you will like this one. These guys were a great small venue band. Saw them live a few times when I lived on the east coast.

No clear, do you mean great songs from local bands? Or one hit wonders?

Local bands. Regional bands. That kind of thing. There is some great talent out there that people may never hear outside of their geography.

How about this. The Trews. Not sure how well they are known in the US.

I think this is one of the most underated acts in the music business…..a great bar band that time has passed by:

Didn’t understand why this song never caught on from a few years ago….compared to today’s offerings such as WAP (don’t get me started )

Not that 'unknown' but Bonham's 'Wait for You'. The drummer is the son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham
There was a local band here back in the late 80's/early 90's called Triple XXX. You can find some of their stuff on youtube. I used to go see them all the time.
Another was a band called Stone Mona. I went to high school with all the members and the one guitarist was one of the co-founders of Buckcherry (Keith Nelson). Can't find anything on them on the internet though. Another not so unknown is Donnie Iris. Pretty big back in the early 80's. He grew up across town from me and we see him often. My aunt used to hang out with him and his wife back in the early 80's and he wore my grandfathers old police pants on stage one night and split the crotch out of them. My mother knew him pretty well too and got us backstage passes back around 2006. Went and saw him a couple weeks ago and talked to him for a bit before the show. His biggest hit was 'Ah Leah'

Here's probably the LEAST KNOWN singer among all posted above.

It's my wife, Tina, singing with the band Chicago. We won a raffle to get that opportunity. YOU GO GIRL!
Wow! How cool, and she did great!!

+1 to Donny Iris.

Got a couple of pics with me and Donnie. One was me, him and my mother a few years ago before one of his shows and one was my mother and Donnie at Wal Mart. She used to do property appraisals and Donnie owned a mortgage brokerage and she used to talk to him all the time. He lives a few miles from her. Me and my wife went to see him and Grannatti Brothers (G-Force) about 2 months ago. Donnies band wasn't there but he went up and did a few songs with G-Force. They used to open for Van Halen back in the early 80's. I talked to Donnie for a few minutes before that show. His band is spread all over the country so they only get together a few times a years. His keyboardist (Mark Avsec) is now an entertainment attorney. Back in their prime they were sued for copyright infringement by some whacko that had sued a few big bands just trying to make a few $$$. Donnie won the suit but for a few years they were not allowed to play their biggest songs so they quit touring and that's kind of when the wheels fell off. So Mark decided to become an attorney to learn all the legalities of the business. Mark and Donnie were both in Wild Cherry (Play that Funky Music) but Donnie didn't join until after that song. Donnie also wrote and sang The Rapper (The Jaggerz) back around 1970.

Wow. I never knew of the Wild Cherry connection but musical family trees are often full of surprises.

Yep. Donnie was doing some work at Jeree Studios in New Brighton, PA and Wild Cherry came in to do some recording. Their guitarist was going to be leaving the band and when they realized Donnie was the singer/songwriter for The Rapper they signed him up. That's where he met Mark and then they both left and formed Donnie Iris and the Cruisers
