All this OCD started after we saw friends liberally apply mildew and stain-remover on their upholstery one morning before launching , and without going behind it with anything. The residual product (probably had bleach in it) did some neat stuff to their upholstery wherever it was exposed to the full sun UV rays, all day, later that day ... (yellowed and cracked prematurely vs the ares under their canopy, etc.)
Now THAT is crazy. Pretty much any bottle of cleaner I've ever looked at specifically says to rinse after using it. But I suppose reading directions is too much to ask Thanks for linking those MSDS's.
As I mentioned above, using bleach the proper way is very safe and won't cause any damage. I've been using bleach (usually diluted to about 1:5 ratio, give or take) for many, many years and have NEVER had any issues with it... but then I always rinse it off afterwards!
