Guys -
I have an '04 320DA which has a Clarion XMD3. I asked my dealer to hook up a 3.5' audio cable to the aux inputs. So..the result is as follows:
1. The ipod plays fine in the cabin. I don't even have to switch anything on the radio, as soon as I plug in the ipod (via the audio jack) it somehow senses that there is something connected. The audio volume is controlled 100% by the wheel on the ipod. Changing the volume on the radio does zero.
2. The ipod won't play in the arch speakers. In fact, whatever the XMD3 is set to (FM, for example) plays in the arch speakers. If I set to AUX, nothing comes out (even though it is playing in the cabin). Really kind of works like a 2-zone setup.
The dealer claims they think the radio is bad and needs to be replaced - I'm skeptical, and think somehow something is wired wrong..
Thoughts??
