For those of you who have this problem this maybe of some help.
I have a SeaRay 310 2008 with a Kohler 5ECD model Generator that would not start. I keep getting "UU" codes (under voltage errors) which translate that the genny is running too slow or inconsistently. Ony 3 things stop an engine, fuel, air and spark. I changed the plugs, the leads, the fuel pump, the fuel lines, cleaned the ground lead (always rusting) and the basic fuel filter on the tank but the generator would start and then shut down after about 30 seconds. Then I removed the fuel injector (Part #GM62619 for 5ECD). I started it up and fuel just dribbled out. I soaked it in brake cleaner and put an air pressure hose to it and got a nice clean spray. Put it back in the generator started great, ran like a charm. One day later and back to not starting. So I concluded the injector was bad and looked for a replacement. In Vancouver, Canada. The local dealer wanted $650 + Shipping Canadian. Yikes! For a GM Part? Really! Oh wait, it said "marine" on the box. So I searched around and found Colburn Power in the US (reference below). They got me the part for $135 plus $60 shipping. Popped it in, it is really easy to change out, and the generator runs smooth and reliable.
