How do you reseal a portlight or someone mentioned tightening some screws on the hinges??? I removed the cushions from mid berth in the fall to find a significant amount of water in molded compartment beneath, i dried and shrinked boat. This spring its back in the same spot, so I am assuming its caused by rain. Someone mentioned the head portlight maybe the culprit . I did have some water dripping from the access port in the med chest last year intermittently, depended on severity of rain/wind. I couldn't recreate it with a hose at all. I thought either a rail mount or the portlight.

There's a number of threads on this forum about completely resealing and it's probably easiest to just search for those. But you have to dismantle it - both from the inside and the outside. It's pretty straight forward once you start.

Now, if it's the head portlight leaking, one of the ways it can leak is between the head wall and the hull, then it travels underneath the head floor. Is there a carpeted panel under your head door? If so, feel for the buried screw heads in the carpet.

However, if it's leaking between the glass and the rubber seal, then yes, possibly tightening the dogs (look at the three dogs/latches for the little adjusting screw at the end) so the glass squeezes the seal better would work. Or, replace the seal.

You'll have to do some more investigative work (systematically) with the hose.

Thank you, I appreciate the response

Check that anything screwed to the deck above is properly sealed.

My 300DA did the same thing. I resealed all the portlights to no avail. Turns out it was the screws that hold the helm seat cabinet L-brackets to the deck were not sealed. I would regularly hose-down the entire cockpit and this was the main source of the water.
