We boat here in Omaha on the Missouri river. Ever since June 11th we haven't been able to get anywhere close to our boats.
The area has had heavy rain and storms almost nightly since about the 7th or 8th or so.
Last time we boated was June 5th. It had rained heavy a few nights before. When we got to the marina, like always, i opened the engine hatch, noticed some water, but just kind of spaced it off, a bit upset because i that it was odd.
Anyhow, now that it's been raining like Fing crazy i'm sure there is now more.
What i don't know is how my bilge operates. I'm assuming it's on a float and if that water hit it, it will go on, thus the reason there wasn't more water when i looked on the 5th.?
2nd thing, would it be possible for the bilge to actually run enough that it would drain a dual battery setup, thus leaving my new engine bathing in water anyhow?
What do you guys do in situations like this?
It's starting to just infuriate me, and make my life miserable because it seems there is nothing i can do to get to the boat.
To boot, it looks like the water is going to come down, but not far enough by the weekend, and then possible surge up a bit again.
I need under 22' to gain access.
