Marine diesel prices...

This was a rude awakening, when you drive in to my marina, they have a sign posted for $3.27 but at the water, unleaded was $4.06!! :wow::smt013 I have GOT to get a truck or find some other way to fill the boat before I have it dropped in. :smt021
 
Cant understand it, diesel at our marina just dropped to 3.99 down .20 cents from 11 days ago.
 
Just for the record: it is $5.25 here at Old Bahama Bay marina. But. I am on my way home, so everything should look good after this.

I think we will see the old "Price fixes price" and margins at marinas will have to come down as people will just not buy fuel and boats will sit...
 
Possible. . . but I suspect marina fuel prices are pegged by auto fuel prices. In my area, the "marine fuel premium" was about $0.40 last year.

I personally don't believe the premium will drop. If doubling fuel cost from $1.75 to $3.50 didn't affect the marina premium. . . going from $3.50 to $4.50 won't do it either.
 
March 13, 2008 - Paid $4.14 (less 0.10 B.U.S. discount) at Riviera Dunes Marina (Palmetto, FL)

April 6, 2008 - Paid $4.04 per gallon at Clearwater City Marina fuel dock

I noted that the on water prices were running approx. 0.15 per gallon over road prices in the same areas. The significance is that there's no road tax on marine fuel. I expect it to be higher on the water though...

At Crystal Point yacht club in NJ Diesel was 4.30 a gallon. Regular gas 4.07 and premium 4.13. For gas this is about .80 cent's higher than on land. Usually this time of year you could expect paying 40-50 cent's more on water than on land. This is high even for NJ.
 
Prince William Marine Diesel: $3.59 last Sunday, less 25 cents for having an account, so $3.34 per gallon.

Going out this weekend to burn a lot of it.

Diesel at Bluewater in Hampton is $3.89/gallon. There's a discount on top of that if you are an annual slip holder...

$4.69 for gas, $4.99 diesel in Port Washington. Went up 50 cents in a week. Doh!!! I knew I should have filled up last weekend.
 
Is there any end in sight to the price increase? Ridiculous! I saw it go up twice in one day at the local gas station by my house this past week.
