Frankly, I was very disappointed as well. The 2013 280 Sundancer is no longer the spacious, well appointed, high performance vessal we have all come to know. Sea Ray’s 280 Sundancer has been redesigned and is now marketed for those stepping up from bowriders and dayboats to a real cruising boat. The mission of the 280 Sundancer according to Sea Ray is to create an attractive transitional cruiser that will not only permit a small family to experience overnights onboard, but will also provide an easy step-up from smaller bowriders to a real cruising boat. No longer will you get the wider 9'5" beam, but a much narrower 8'6'' beam. The fuel and water tanks are much smaller as well. It is no longer offered with "twin" 5.0L or twin MerCruiser 350 MAGs. The boat seems underpowered with its single 300-hp engine. You can opt for upgrading to the 380-hp MerCruiser 8.2 MAG, but again in a single. There are no privacy curtains in the forward berth either. Not surprising however is the price doesn’t appear to be any lower.My son and I went to the show today, and frankly, were very disappointed in the new Sundancer 280. The deck and cockpit areas seemed very meager (looked like the deck of a fishing boat), and the cockpit lacked any kind of style whatsoever. I spoke with a few other manufacturers about what I saw, and was told (from several sources) that, in an attempt to cut costs, the SeaRay and Bayliner lines are sharing more and more parts. I'm not sure what to believe, but based on what I saw, I wouldn't buy one anytime soon.

I would agree. The new 280 style is like the older 260. Likewise, the new 260 style is similar to the older 240.The new style 280 is the same size as the 2005-2008 260. I think it is pretty similar across the board when it comes to sizing on the new models.
