was going to head over to the denver boat show this weekend and look at the new 310. after looking at the spec sheet i guess i'll stay home.

i kinda remember some posts about the new sizes but didn't pay that much attention. i see now what the guys are talking about.

every thing about this one is smaller. maybe left it in the water to long and she just shrank right up

I think the new 310 is close to my 280. Just another way for them to make more money. The state of Florida will make more too during registration time. Bigger boat (on paper) means more $$$$.

That was one of the Salesman's pitches to me when I bought the used 2008 310 DA. It was set up like the 330, bigger berth up forward and more like 33' + in length.

We kicked the tires on a new 370 at the Annapolis Md. show only to find out that the boat is the same size as our 2004 340. At twice the price. We would have to bump up to a 390 to gain anything at all. Guess this goes hand in hand with smaller containers at the same price. Hope the Beer Companies don't get wind of this.

Yes, the closest current model year replacement for your '00 310DA would probably be the '10+ 330DA. Everything has been basically "bumped up" for 2010-up models from a numbering standpoint to reflect LOA.

I look at it this way: My 310 is the 330 of today!

So my 310 grew!

At 31 feet, the new 310 is the same LOA as the old 280DA. And at 10 feet, the beam is only 6" wider than the old 280. The hull is deeper and longer so there is more cabin space than the 280. The longer cabin is taken from the cockpit so the cockpit on the new 310 is smaller than the 280. I'm not a huge fan of the new 310.

I officially have a 30 footer now :smt038

Yep, although I have noticed in several cases having the 280 on the side rather than the 310 can save money on "charge per foot" pricing depending on who you are dealing with.

That was one reason I chose the 1990/91 270 Sundancer.....same size as the 1992/93/94 290 Sundancer! When paying by the foot, it's nice having the 270 logo on the side plus I like having the v-berth set up all the time and having a table to play cards or eat on ready to go, Mike.

Models aren't limited to cruisers only either. My '08 Sundeck 210 is now the Sundeck 220. Exact same specs. I find it funny that the searay website's gallery pictures of the Sundeck 220 still shows a swimdeck with the 210 lettering just above the deck!

For the international models that was always the case IIRC. Our 380 (04') is a 415 international model designation and the new 410 is our old 380 (if that makes sense). They added the swim platform to the LOA of the hull and upcharged consideribly more! On our way to the Chicago show in a couple of hours (hope not to be disappointed like the last few years but expect to be!).

It is nice to have the '03 410DA since I pay for a 41' boat when it counts (except berthing) and it is the same size as the 2010 450DA. It has the same LOA and is 8" wider.

I looked at the new 280 at the Annapolis Show and it looked just like my 260. I then looked at the specs and the only difference was it had 4" more beam. So much for upgrading to a 280. Oh well, I think I am headed to the Trawler ranks in the near future. i don't like the direction SR is going.

That is why I went to an older boat to restore. I bought an 88 340 which by today's specs is bigger than a 390. I also added a bigger swim platform from Swimplatforms.com which makes it look like the newer ones. Overall length of my boat is now 39 feet. Until 1990, the boats were measured from stern to bow, now they are measured from end of the swim platform to the bow pulpit.

This year is the year for internal upgrades to modernize the looks.

And to add to the confusion/deception is that my 1990 280DA was a 10 1/2' beam, of course it was changed to a 300DA in '92.

Again I always tell people when shopping to compare the beam as the advertised length has little to do with the boats anymore.

Not sure what boat today would compare to my 350/370 with the 12' 4" beam. 390, 400?

Not sure but my 320 beam was 11' 3" and the 410 is 13' 10".
