Hi, I have a 2007 Sea Ray SD240 with a EAA046B amp and My 40amp fuse blows immediately upon battery power. Any thoughts on if my Amp is bad or obviously a direct short. All my wires are in good shape and the original clarion CMD4 powers on. Thanks for any input.

Did you check your manual to confirm that a 40A fuse is what's intended for the amp? I'd start there perhaps. You can get the electrical schematics from Searay.com.

Thank you, as far as i know even the previous owner my friend, said it used to work. I could see a smaller fuse blowing but a 40 amp is unusual unless there is a direct short or just a blown amp. And yes, the schematics say 40 amp. I may just get an electrician to check the voltage, I was just reaching out for thoughts as i am not good with boat electrics.
