My project today was to investigate how to get my radar to overlay my chart. The manual details how to do this but what it doesn't tell you is that you need a heading sensor. A heading sensor runs about $600. The other option is to install v4.3 software which is downloadable from the Raymarine site. The software update allows you to use the GPS heading when in motion. The radar wil get confused when not in motion which is why Ray removed the feature from subsequent software updates. I'm willing to use it this way since I typically would only use the overlay function during limited visibility situations.
Just thoughti would would share my findings. The more I learn about the c-series the more robust it gets. I was considering an upgrade to a newer touch screen model but the c-series works great once you learn how to use it.
