Ok there I was taping around my out drives and I put my arm on one of the drives I got a shock . Shore power was on and battery charger was on. Ground was damp, turned off batt charger and it went away, checked ac wiring seems ok. Help !!!

A bad battery charger will do that. Had the same thing happen on my 270DA. Replace the charger before looking at anything else.

I think I would use meter and check neutral and ground as stated earlier before I spent any money. If the ground was wet you were standing on and you are getting shocked, the reversed polarity sounds right. It could be reversing internally in the charger but that is rare. Are you using an extension cord that maybe the ground prong is broke off or someone replaced a plug on?

I did use an extension cord and the ground was missing, I think the polarity was correct but not sure, was sitting on ground with my old holy pants, she is going in the water today. I will check neutral and ground when I get her to to the well, also have a call in to promariner
thanks !

Were you taping the area near the bottom of the drive? The Mercathode electrode is right down there at the very bottom. Without water, you may have just been the shortest path to ground at the time.

I was always under the impression that the MC system stayed hot even when the batteries are off. If so, that would point right back at the charger or AC power system as others have said.

With no ground prong, you were the ground! The charger is leaking internally. Newer style ones have protection.

Ok she's in the water , runs great a little fog in anchor bay but once clear she did 44.5 MPH
after talking to protechi found the charger chassis ground missing. I hope this will cure the problem.

Still wont help if you plug back into that same cord with no ground prong. It might spread it out so its not as bad...

Cut the end off that cord & throw it in the trash or put a new end on it...It is VERY dangerous without the ground prong!
