Dave and Don, do you guys use bubblers or does it not freeze solid where you are?

I should have shrank wrapped my boat. I got cheap because i wanted to do work to the boat this winter. I've come to realize it won't fit in my garage and i won't touch it till spring.

Newbie lesson learned. :smt009

Half off

My automatic bubbler is activated at 30 F and shuts off at 40 F
the marina charges 250.00 for the winter plus electric

Bubbler for me too......I do mine manually. When I see a skim ice on the canal....I drop it in and plug it in for a while.

OUT....when I don't need it :

IN.....when I do :

Dave,

I thought you normally moved your boat down to warmer weather so it didn't get that sort of abuse....

Abuse is the correct word... the poor thing.

She is for sale and thought it best to keep her close.

That is neat to see that. In our area, only place I know of is Milwaukee Yacht Club that allows boats in the water all winter - I believe there are 2 or 3 boats that usually stay in...2 years ago - went sailing in January on a fluke 60 degree day! It would be nice to keep it in the water...but always just have fears with how cold it gets here...

Went out in the pole barn today to give the boat a hug for the new year. Told her, it will be four months and we hit the water again.

I vote for Miami also.
I finished shrinkwraping my 400 today with the help of some friends. I am also in the water..little tougher to shrink, but doable.
Bubbler, winterized, and safe heaters on. Ready for winter. But, Come on SPRING!!!

Ayup, was skiing at Smuggs yest... a bit nipply... missing the lake! Went down to Burlington yesterday afternoon, the lake's still wide open, but it had white caps (strong northwesterly blowing, maybe 20-30 mph) it looked frigid! 35 degree water.

Weave, I'm looking to grow 10 ft.

Air O', now its time to wash the canvas! 4 hours today I'm halfway there.

Vt.SR , my teen daughter got frost nip on her hand, but loves to ski now. No thanks. It is pretty up there however. I may go back up when its warmer, like 25 above.

You can't.
The site won't allow in-lining of html or javascript. Very annoying.

The best one can do is to continuously regenerate a jpeg and upload that to a web site. Then reference that JPEG from a post. Very inelegant.

Best regards,
Frank
