I keep my boat at Brick NJ, thats where I bought it (Brokered Boat) that's where I have it serviced. I spent $4500. having the boat serviced this year because the previous owner (1 Year) did nothing to the boat. I just got a bill for the slip for next year of $5200. Am I being unreasonable to think that the slip fee is a little exhorbitant?:smt101 Especially after spending that kind of money to have it serviced!!!!

Yep... that sounds expensive. We only get 5-6 months but my slip fee is $1,000 and my winter service (which includes shrink wrap and storage) was $2,000. I'm sure your docks are nicer though.

Sounds high to me.
Though, the price might be competitive for the area.
Example:
Where I am in CT. would cost you $4300 with power and taxes.
Shop it around...
Mark.

That sure sounds like a lot of money for your slip especially when they do all your service work. I would think if you ask you could get a deal. Remember all they can say is "NO".

We pay $432/month including tax, electricity and water at Homeport Marina in Ozona (Palm Harbor) Florida. Price is about same as city of Clearwater Marina just down the ICW.

at our yacht club / marina you pay by the beam. So a 13' wide runs about 3-4.5k depending on what part of the marina you are at. I don't see why maintenance/ repairs have anything to do with dockage fees. those are two seperate issues.
are you asking someone to give you discounted dockage because he fixed your boat?

Well it's all about location and amenities. Also is that for the season or season and winter storage. I believe I paid around $3100 for season and on land storage previously. I moved and now have an annual contract which includes storage and launch fee at another marina and have a pool to use too.

To me that seems a bit high but you are at the shore! I would expect the folks from Jersey to give you much better feedback on the cost. You can also so some web searching for marina's in the area and see if they post their slip fees.

FI&1, to me it's called business sense. Do you think I'm going to spend $4500. next season? That was for maintanance, nothing was broken! The $5200. is for in the water till when I pull it. Marina has water and electric, showers, head and a full time service department.

$7,000 a year. Maintenance has nothing to do with slip fees.

Our marina has 2 sides (old & new). The Old side covered 50' is $590 per month and the new side is $660 per month (they do a weekly pump out and has nice concrete docks with fewer spiders). The boat stays in the slip yesr round so it adds up pretty fast. This is probably the most expensive marina on the Delta. I am working on a "new berther" deal but that only helps the first year.

I'm in Brick too. Are you at Marine Max? Mine is also 5200. There are several threads here on CSR about marina/slip pricing. Of course Jersey is more than most. Apples to Apples when doing your comparisons. Hope to see you on the water this year. Brian

We paid $1300.00 a year. That is for our slip and winter storage. Both dock and winter storage are secure. Our dock has water and electric. The marina offers, bathrooms and showers and a great parking lot. We are pleased.

Now I am finally jealous of you LA! That would make boating even more enjoyable...good for you!

I pay $205/month (12 months) for a 20' x 60' covered slip in a 3year old marina. For that I get water and a dock box. The docks are all concrete and the main dock and fingers are 8' wide. I pay separately for power and have my own pedestal that has 30A-120v and 50A-240v shore power.

These two pics are of my 330 Dancer and 19' Reinell, before I traded the 330 in.

Someone already mentioned it but it bears repeating....work done on your boat has no bearing on what you pay for a slip. They're two completely separate costs.

What a deal! They look like very nice docks too...

Hey Brian, that's where I'm at! This is my first full year there and I just thought it was a little EXPENSIVE! It's not like we have a pool or Wifi or a bulkhead that doesn't flood or a snack bar, or security or a head that gets cleaned well... etc! What dock are you at?

Hahahaha. Welcome to our world. BYOTP. It is truly sad that for that much money you need to bring your own TP and soap when you head down for the weekend's. They did add security gates. (Tip...Did you forget the code?... reach around the side and open;) The lot only floods during very high tides which is usually the only time your boat actually floats. I can see we are going to get along great! Looking forward to meeting you. Regards, Brian Oh, I'll add that the location is great, and I really like Chris my service manager. He's the reason I stay there.
