lots of security and a nice place but spendy...
It's nice to have a covered slip... I FINALLY get a covered slip and it's
for a boat that takes no varnish or annual paint work... that figures!!

$275 a month includes water, cable and $40 of power. We have never used more than $40 of power in a month.

Every marina I have seen based the slip price on the size of the boat, usually X dollars per foot per month. Posting the price you pay per year for the slip doesn't mean much unless you also tell us how big the boat or the slip is, and whether it includes anything else like power or a short haul.

Okay as our currencies are at parity or close to it then I should clarify what the AU$8600 per year gets you. Firstly that is a 12 month fee which when paid in full gets you an extra 2 months free, so the 12 months buys 14 months. It is all concrete wharfs and the marina provides a slip package which consists of fenders and all ropes etc which they install on your slip. It is all security gated and CCTV security. Beautiful ensuite facilities of which there are 12 of in the marina building. Shore power, water, cable TV, internet to your slip pole. Two dockhands available for leaving dock and returning to dock, very handy when your by yourself. Car park spot which is essential in the marina area during the holiday seasons otherwise parking is ticketed at $2:50 per hour by the local government authority. Plus all the eateries on the marina are a stones throw away, places likes Hogs Breath Cafe are right there. Oh and you are given 8 cents off per litre from the bowser at the marina for petrol.

This is the price for a 25' to 33' boat.

A 16 x 40' covered was costing us $5k a year, regardless the size of boat. This was at the nicest marina on the lake with exercise room, private bathhouse and showers, valet parking, etc. Full of big cruisers and million $$ houseboats. Bands every other weekend, lots of activity. www.statedock.com

We tried that for a couple years, was fun, however we like the more laid back quaint dock that we spend the last 18 years at so we moved back. Even got our same slip that we first got in 1990. Our slip there is 14 x 34' covered and runs us $2500 per year. Older wooden docks are maintained well, have everything we need, cable, wifi, sure do miss those nice showers though. More fishing camp style really.

In Michigan I own my slip (40'x16') and it costs me approx $229 per quarter (association fees) and it includes gated parking, pool, laundry, water, electricity and dock maintance. On top of that is property taxes. During the winter months the slip is empty, but still paying.
In Florida my boat (23' CC) is in a High & Dry and the cost is approx $300/mo.

Dock my 420AC along with two outher boats behind house off lake pontchartrain louisiana all I pay is homeowners fees property tax insurance for boat and house and whatever outher obama fees this fine government can come up with.

Crispy, on the left coast the only slip prices I've seen were based on the size of the slip, not the size of the boat you put in it.

Transient moorage is the only thing I've ever seen out here that is prices on the size of the boat, then you pay dearly for the privilege to be at their dock.

BTW, for those of you who travel in your boats, most yacht clubs offer reciprocal moorage at highly discounted prices, if not free. Our club has reciprocity agreements with almost 100 other clubs around the PNW.

$950, April 15th to Oct 15th. :smt038
$75, If you need electric

Plus my dock neighbor's wife is HOT looking. :smt001

It's all supply and demand.
We're short of dock space around the island. There's waiting lists at most marinas (sometimes not the crappy ones).
I pay $5400 a year for a 41x15 boathouse (that I had to buy).
It's expensive but the hull is still a mirror and there's no growth on the bottom. In open moorage I had growth in 6 months.
Ya' can't see it but I have room for lawn chairs and a table (inside) behind the boat.

I have been a member at Bridgeview Marina in Sarnia on the St Clair River at the mouth of Lake Huron since 77 and we pay just under 4 grand for full service, lift out, storage, pump outs etc. This seems steep but all things considered it's reasonable and we pay by the foot it all seems worthwhile once we go for the first cruise of the season.

We are at 4200.00 6 months includes water electric. Like it has been said before supply and demand. If other people are willing to pay it than you will to.

We will be paying $3,700 for our slip, for about a 6-6/12 month season. Has shore power, but that's about it. But it is in a no-wake channel, so that part is nice. (My sig pic is taken off the dock of our slip.)

You mean to tell me there are harbors/marinas that rent slips that are NOT in no wake zones? Man those got to be CHEAP!

I guess now I don't feel so bad! Went down to the Marina today and it's a ghost town. The employees must have had the week off. Not a shoe mark in the snow, the wind must have been really strong during the storm. My dock box was pushed to the middle of the dock and the transient dock because of the extreme tide was hanging off a piling! Well they ain't getting the $5200. check today thats for sure!:smt038

We pay $110 per foot (LOA=32) and that includes winter storage.

$150 for the season for electric--no meters.

We have a spa, gym, bar, gas pump and pool--although I never seen the gym.

I believe it is either 5% or 10% of money spent at the pump can be applied toward other mechanical fees and there is a cap of I believe $500.

They do charge to haul out and splash at the beginning and end of the season.

I moved to another marina because I was getting waked to much. My slip fees increased from $4.50 a foot to $7.00 a foot. But we're much happier where we are now.
