Fellow Sea Ray owners, my 2006 Sundancer 320 has a chronic issue with sensor alarms causing Guardian mode to initiate, and one or both motors shut down (Merc 35O MPI)? Shutdown occurs at low speed. All gauges normal. Had mechanic replace port oil pressure sensor, and stbd water pressure sensor in the past six months. Stbd alarm started on a recent return trip, with Overspeed showing (running between 3200 and 4000 rpm), and in 20 min stbd motor shut down with no ability to restart (at low rpm in marina). Limped into slip and now disabled. When attempting startup, able to get power and turn over stbd motor, but upon start engine cuts out immediately. Having mechanic back this Friday to troubleshoot but they don't seem to be able to find the root cause of this issue. Oil level fine, full gas, recent service. Help!

Did your mechanic put a computer on it to read the codes?

Hi Mike. Yes when this happened six months ago my mechanic did, and replaced a port oil sensor and stbd water sensor. Problem seemed to be solved for a short period of time, but returned. Issue seems to occur (not always) when I’ve been on the hook for the weekend and startup, then during idle I will get the sensor alarm, typically just one side. Engine stalls but will normally restart. Issue also happens when I’m coming into the marina at idle. Over speed alert normally occurs when at speed, although not excessive rpm...not typically ever over 4000 rpm. Normal operation I’m at 3200-3500 rpm.
