Yes everything is working just not loving the speed that they are providing now on the ROAM plan. I am still on the fence on what to do... Need to get to Bimini on a test trip to the Bahamas to test out the current system and then maybe upgrade to Marine while there to see the difference. Not sure I am going to make it there in May so June may be the test for that.

Good luck, yeah the roam plan for me was unusable. I am interested in hearing about the maritime plan and how that works out.
 
I'm trying to get my head around "priority access". It seems if many are Roam or Maritime with Priority Access then the bandwidth is right back in the dumpster. Bahama's may be better to access the constellation but still the data must be relayed to a ground station where my bet resides the bottleneck. But, I say keep up the good work and faith and good things will come around.

I think SL didn't expect such an early adoption rate of so many. And now they see opportunity to raise rates and make some of the investment back. There roam plan is unusable and only teases you into upgrading to the 50GB plan and then the next and only usable plan is $1000/month for 1TB. Thats were they want us to be. Won't pay that, seek other options is how I see it.
 
I agree that’s why I might just turn on Marine with this current dish and see how much better they speed really is. If it turns out to be awesome then I might upgrade to the bigger unit to have all the features

And next week it will be something else ...

My plan name changed again to "MOBILE - REGIONAL" that is still not a priority plan so I doubt it would change anything. Hopefully this means that, that type of plan will allow usable iNet all of the time.

@ocgrant Grant have you noticed any changes in your service since it slowed down, did it speed back up?

Edit: Funny I canceled my account since my dishy fried and not it states paused and "MOBILE - REGIONAL". I didn't un-cancel my account.

I was seeing 20-40 download last weekend at the air show. Not bad but not the 100+ I had before.

Not bad, that's usable. I am thinking of trying it again later after things calm down with their changes. I was seeing ~3-5 all of the time, but that was the first two weeks of the first change.
 
So went to the boat and got decent results. Now the debate begins.. upgrade or not to the bigger dish??

That's with the Mobility roam? Or is that with the upgrade to 50gb/month?

If that is what you see most of the time, this I would leave what you have. 40MBps is fine just about anything. Really anything over 15MBps is succulent.

@alnav Al, I believe they are the same as they appear to only sell one adapter.
