TAR SUBSTANCE DRIPPING?

Can anyone tell me what this is and why is it dripping? If so, why is it dripping? Feels like a tar type of substance. Unable to post pictures. They are on this link.

Is the plastic housing busted? That may be the medium they use inside it to make the sounder work.

You didn't mention where it dripping FROM? Look underneath... I can't do that for you from where I am

Looks like the transducer is toast. Leaking from the hole in the end. Without feeling it, it's most likely the dielectric grease they used in it.
