The future of EVs? Maybe not so bad?

I’m not really interested in hybrids. Too complicated. Give me an EV or a simple ICE. This in between just seems like overly complicated garbage.
To be honest I haven't done a ton of research into hybrids other than my BIL has a plug-in Volvo hybrid he is very happy with. Also my DIL's dad has a hybrid he is happy with but the thing is a dog. I will stick with ICE as long as they make them. I think this new pronouncement from Brandon and the Tree Huggers will go down in flames like most of them do.

I’m not sure why you have such an attitude here I’m trying to be respectful towards you.
Read this. It’s a fairly politically unbiased sourced.

the new rules ease off the previous proposals to appease the automakers. I suspect as we get closer we will see even more easing off of these regulations.
In all fairness @TimW, this is not a political issue for @jmauld, or at least he hasn't brought that side into it in this thread. EVs fit his lifestyle and he likes them. To each his own. This is definitely not the Trump thread.

My apologies to you.
My opinions definitely can be over the top at times.

I actually don’t have that much of a problem with EVs but for the fact they’re shoved down our throats non-stop. They are not the end all be all, but they do have some utility.

Just not for me.

We rented a Honda Accord Sport Hybrid in Oahu for the last two weeks. I liked it. Had a ton of power when needed and was quiet as well. A little bumpy, but I imagine because it’s because it’s a Sport. If I didn’t live where I live, I’d consider one for work.

If the left gets their way yeah they are aiming for 50% but then they will drive the price of gasoline so high that it will force 25% more to make the switch to EV's. The only ones sticking with ICE will be those that can afford paying $10/gallon for gasoline or those that flat out refuse to switch no matter the cost. I believe that is the end plan.

There's more truth to this than known. If/when America is on a single source of energy federal and state revenue and energy becomes better controlled. I see the electrical grid becoming federalized so energy can be rationed - it will become scarce.

I have said this before, but Rush's song Red Barchetta is becoming prophetic rather than fantasy.
