That looks like it should work. You are the guinea pig on this one. I was looking at that this past weekend and know its a matter of time before the admiral says "Can you do something about the drain?"Think this is a fit for my galley sink drain? Best I can tell is my lock nut against the sink bottom is 2", so perhaps an easy fit. It's a Moen SS described.Pretty cheap!View attachment 124140View attachment 124141 View attachment 124142
That is exactly what my porthole window looked like. I replaced the gaskets on both windows (see earlier in thread for part #) and still had water in the same spot at the top of the mattress. I reapplied caulking to all of the rails on the bow and around the hatch and still had water. Once I caulked the exterior metal frame for the porthole windows, my problem was solved.Day3 Captiva Isl, tomorrow Gasparilla Isl. Inspected my anchor chain locker door closely. Although still possible slight water leak origin, it looks well sealed, perhaps a prev owner reset of hinge + new gasket. Stbd porthole might be culprit as was suggested. Evidence of water intrusion, enough to stain. Water must run forward and drips just above lower mirror onto fwd edge of mattress & pillows.View attachment 124264 View attachment 124265
Oh, exterior. Was going to disassemble from inside and see about a a simple silicone squeeze. Might have to replace the gaskets as you did, probably the right way to address, regardless. Plus an outer bead of clear silicone caulk. Thanks! That is exactly what my porthole window looked like. I used white 3M 4200 to seal it. I think it lays down a better bead than the clear and can be removed if needed. Just my .02Oh, exterior. Did mine on the 48 Dancer a few months back. Way less crap in the sump. Used the Dripless SeaChoice I got from Amazon and super easy install.Has anyone here modified your galley sink drain to bypass the center sump and dump directly out the hull via a thru hull? There are several write ups in the 480 DB and 400 DB owners threads to do the same modification to mainly prevent food particles from getting into the center sump. I think we all would like to avoid cleaning the funky sump as much as possible.
I found this post from 2016, but the pictures are gone: http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/480-db-owners-club.34810/page-86&fbclid=IwAR0TwDV0tWATHizyar7Mx1Bc9d5kNVbJWf936dPQvrn5AnLTdgX1LHMe5NM#post-891534
Here is a 480 with the thru hull mod:

I read that this thru hull from Groco can be used: https://www.groco.net/products/fitt...kHg2-OHjtArkMBsmW0pElo8TXpe-UleE32wXM8tI9M8pM
The issue I can see with our 450s is trying to get the thru hull as low as needed to the water line. I wonder if the area in the center compartment below the galley sink floor is too tight to of a spot? I know I can reach in to the access holes in the dreaded center compartment, but it might be too far to reach the hull side to drill and install a thru hull and hose.
Thank you for the information Grant! I like the dripless thru hull and how you plumbed the system!Did mine on the 48 Dancer a few months back. Way less crap in the sump. Used the Dripless SeaChoice I got from Amazon and super easy install.

I used a pvc plug and a hose clamp and tucked it back behind the cabinet.Thank you for the information Grant! I like the dripless thru hull and how you plumbed the system!
I’m curious on what you did with the old line to the sump. Did you remove the line and cap the sump box or leave the line in place and cap the end?
My diver checked mine last week, said it still looked great, Seahawk Cukote, June will be 1 year. Replaced shaft zincs, will replace stern zinc plate next time or two. Entering time of year for monthly bottom wipe of scum. Our monthly use helps. Slip neighbor burned up (with major smoke) his shaft seal, haul out necessary. Ran into another boat owner (Mainship) had to depart from an outing on one engine while the other had a busted shaft. Gives me pause wishing I had temp monitoring of various points such as, tranny, turbo, shaft seal, and probably more. My Sea Ray systems monitor is in working order, however. Made some readings with an IR gun while underway for a baseline of about 6 points per engine. But, how often am I able to do that!At least in the Gulf and tributaries Bicop TF from Seahawk is incredible. Zero growth since my splash.

Same with my engine vents. I didn’t know about the UV stable option. Thanks for the tip!If outside I'd use 3M 4000, it's UV stable. My ER vents are already turning yellow with the 4200 I used...boo.
