New salon A/C....finally! A few differences, but Citimarine's 16K BTU unit was nearly a drop in replacement. It is quiet compared to the Crusair.

Like drop-in! My 3 A/C's all working order, perhaps no more than 5 yrs old, not sure. I did have to descale tho on acquisition, June '20. Lack of use and docked in the nasty Indian River in Cocoa. When away I use HU feature for dehumidify. "Dometic" seems familiar as brand without looking.

Have been waiting to use HU mode for some time as the A/C I just replaced had pretty badly corroded coils and my surveyor freaked me out and said most boats he saw sink at the dock were corroded A/C coils. So, I never ran the A/C unsupervised since the raw water flows to all three units whether or not they are on or off.

Now I feel confident on letting the SMX II manage the daily dehumidification.

I descaled a month ago and the coils on the unit I just removed looked good (internally). Used the descaler left over from flushing my generator.

One feature I don't like is the condensate sump. But, the units are so low in the boat, a pump is the only way to direct it overboard. It's just a bilge pump in a little box....and my cover is missing. Grrr.

I replaced the Rule with a Sea Flo. The Rule kept overflowing as the pump would cavitate and not pump. Sea Flo has been good so far, and twice the warranty at half the price.

Thanks! That's what I should do.

Went to the Doolittle Commemoration Flyover yesterday afternoon and the Okaloosa County Board of Commissioners photogrpaher caught us on camera below the airplanes...despite a calm forecast, there were 1 to 2 foot rollers which you can see in the second pic.

So, ruined a bunch of cool airplane videos (note CV-22 in background of before pic) yesterday with my ugly FM antenna. Have had the replacement sitting on the boat for months; finally fixed this evening.

Here is an interesting new listing on Yachtworld for a 1999 450 EB in Toronto Canada. I have never seen our boat with 3208 Cats, which were discontinued in 1999. I believe the 3208 was used in the 440 EB and only had 375hp compared to the 420hp that the 3126 Cats put out. Reading the 1999 article I posted on the first page of this thread, the 3126s were described as the "optional" engines, so maybe this is base model?
Also noteworthy is the removal of the TV in the salon and conversion to a mini bar.

Edit: I was able to get the HIN# of this boat: SERP4441D999
SER Vessel is a Sea Ray
P boat built in Palm Coast FL plant
4414 (287 boats after my boat built in July of 98)
D boat was built in April
9 boat was built in 1999
99 manufactured as a 1999 model boat.
I'm checking with the broker to get the 450EB#

Interesting use of the TV cabinet. Have been trying figure out what to do with mine since we pulled out the old TV.

My TV remains above the switch panel, slides out, doors slide back. I use a Firestick and works well anywhere I have wifi. Pictures show the TV mounted above the aft SR on that large open space. Must have been fun wiring it and securing it. Nice to see the price of a boat 3 yrs older than mine. Dinghy looks pretty new. Electronics look outdated as mine used to be.

My previous owner had a TV over the aft state room, just ran an extension cord along the back of the settee and put the TV in the settee underway. No work required...lol.

Fast forward, take our boat out fishing and I laid said TV down on pillows on top of the stateroom and failed to close the aft state room door. About 3 hours into the day I hear a loud crash. Go down stairs and the TV is in the aft stateroom...bad seamanship on my part. Broke that TV, lucky it didn't do any other damage.

As far as location, it really blocks the view/light from the slider which is not optimal.

Prev post on a Yachtworld 450EB made me view all of our model listed, much as I did last June. 8 boats, '99-'03. If I throw out the highest and lowest priced, average of 6 boats is $208k, similar value to last June with 10 boats at that time. Didn't check details such as dinghy, engine hours, etc.

Your set up sounds like what I did. We don’t watch a lot of TV. Maybe a movie at night when we are on the hook.

I met another 450EB owner from Huntington Beach who gave me a tour of his boat that I copied. I mounted a post in the center of the cabinet and put a swivel/extension mount on. I have a little 30” Vizio smart TV and Vizio sound bar that work well together. Also in the cabinet is the WiFi and digital antenna. I added a black panel in the rear of the cabinet to clean it up a little. Pretty basic and simple set up.

Image on the screen, nice touch!

Extended TV with doors pushed in looks exactly like mine except that the TV is mounted on a pull-out swivel mount base vs an arm. A little tricky getting the TV out and back in. Behind the TV is a spaghetti of wires and splitters. A giant mess of cables including a gain controller that doesn't work worth crap. At first I replaced a corroded splitter for the arch antenna air wave reception. Then, went to the Firestick for football season. Logging into my home provider gets me everything I want. I can live without wifi on the hook or use my cell phone as a wifi tether. For Master SR TV, a flat plastic analog antenna (Amazon) pulls in air wave channels good enough for wife liking NCIS or Law & Order. Even Hogan's Heros or Green Acres, lol. There's also a DVD player attached, but we don't bother with it. The mid-SR TV isn't hooked up at all but no-one seems to care. Before buying this boat, we viewed a 450EB in Pensacola. Owner had bolted the salon TV to the outside of the cabinet doors rendering them unusable. Seemed pretty stupid to me.

I pulled out the TVs in both the master and middle staterooms and just use the space for storage.

I updated the first post on this thread to include the HIN and internal Sea Ray number for all of our boats and for any 450EB we might come across. It is a registry of sorts to see if we can account for the 240 or so total boats that Sea Ray built in the production run. If I don't have your boat's information, let me know and I will update the first post. If you come across a 450EB in your travels, please try to snap a quick picture of the HIN. I will also try to gather as many as I can from the for sale ads.
