Yes, risky purchase if can't haul or sea trial. Survey? Crazy color scheme would have to go.

Funny thing is that when it sold about two years ago all that color had just been put on. I like the salon floors.

Know price two yrs ago?

Zinc Fish
Looking to use a zinc fish for added protection of the zincs. The marina is having issues while rebuilding and many boats are going through shaft, hull, etc.. zincs every 8-12 weeks.
I wanted to see if anyone has already gone through this exercise without having to create a hole for the zinc cable to pass though?
What is the best method/ spot to hook to boat ground ?
Any ideas are appreciated.

If your boat is going through zincs, my guess is your galvanic isolator may be bad.
They fail grounded so there isn't any way to tell it is dead, but it stops isolating your boat from becoming part of the galvanic cell created in a marina.

I've gone about 8 months on my current set. The diver suggested I will need to replace when he dives later this month. The pics he took in December showed "new" looking zincs. The past dive showed wear starting.
However a couple other boats on the dock are going through the zincs in the past 2-3 months. Installed theirs in late November and their showing rapid deterioration.

I was just curious if there was a quick attachment for a zinc fish just to play it safe.

My boat has a Charles Industries IsoBoost 50 for shore power isolation. Seems to work well. New zincs June 2021 during bottom job, then November 2022. Incidentally, recent diver recommended Zimar Intl. zincs as the best and installed them. My first install was left up to the boatyard when on the hard so unknown what brand. Apparently there's good & not so good zincs.

Started the rebuilds on my water pumps today (Sherwood 1730).

Pretty happy decided I went with the major kits (Found them for $380).

Old shaft compared to new shaft (port). Raw water side bearing was not looking amazing.

Dam, I should perhaps expect mine look that on my 1080 hrs.

Can't see these bearings until you press the shaft out as they sit behind seals. I am sitting at around 1450 hrs. Sherwood recommends a light kit every two years and a heavy kit every 4 years for light use. No idea if this was original from 99' or it has been serviced. The strb was in much better shape at 400ish hours (3 years) with just some light surface rust (rebuilding anyway).

No port hole windows in the master of crazy boat? I've never seen that before. Have i just missed this on other boats?
Went back to see the pics. I see portholes in the heads, not the master sr. Hard to tell for the mid-sr. Curious indeed.

Go look at pics of my boat. There are no porthole windows fwd of the heads on 2003 2SR build! I can confirm that assessment. Master SR has curtains in it like there would be portholes, but NO!!

I wonder if Sea Ray had a lot of warranty claims for the porthole windows in the master and this was the fix. Every boat owner with the windows seems to have had the dreaded leak.
