What do you folks do to get a 12v plug for iPads, etc?

I'm new to Sea Ray having just bought a 2003 220 bow rider. I'm realizing now that there is no where to plug in a 12v "cigarette lighter adapter" to keep devices charged. My main nav is a waterproof cased iPad running Garmin Blue Water and I'd like to keep it plugged in at the helm. Any DIY advice on how to tap into 12v and maybe drill in a power plug. I'm guessing Sea Ray didn't put one in because it would be a source of rot and would probably fail. Thanks.

Many Sea Ray bow riders come with a 12v lighter plug. No reason not to add one.

That boat should already have a 12V outlet. Could be at the helm, the glovebox or the helm storage. Shouldn't be too hard to find as it looks like a normal 12V outlet. If you want to add another one, you could tap into the existing - as long as you don't use two high-current devices at the same time.

I'm not with the boat right now, but I could swear mine didn't have one at the helm. Now if I get back to it and find it I'll feel stupid. I looked all through the glove box and didn't find one there either.

my baby had a conventional one (OEM) near the starboard side speaker & I added (2) two of them (1) one (CONVENTIONAL) hidden near the cup holder to the right of the steering wheel and (1) one (conventional + USB) under the ignition switch kinda where your left knee would be when piloting the boat and the stereo (none OEM) that came with my baby has a USB plug

I have on board a 5 in 1 battery jumper that i keep charged and it has an inverter and USB outputs on it . It comes in handy on board and off but a 12 volt socket is a most have so if your boat doesn't have one which is odd I would install one.

I didnt find mine until our second season with it. It is buried up at the front of the helm side storage, kinda up under the throttle. I figured they put it there to keep it dry. But it is well hidden.
