What's with the lousy graphics on some of the 2009 Models?

What the heck is Sea Ray thinking with these crappy graphics? I saw a 185 Sport in the dealers showroom and couldn't believe how lousy it looked. And I couldn't find a single person in the showroom who liked them either. I sure hope the dealers are ready to remove these things. There is no way I would take delivery of one of these boats with those graphics.:smt009

Dave,

My understanding from looking at the Sea Ray demo site on the 185 model, those graphics are going to replace the standard graphics. That said you will still be able to get the Wakeboard graphics like my boat has in 2009.

One other thing I noticed is they have now put a hinge on the rear seat as opposed to velcro which would make the coolers a lot user friendly.

I agree. They look really cheap. I just saw a 17 or 18 ft searay go by and it looked like a BAYLINER. I had to wait till it got close to see what it was. Bad choice I think.

They must be trying to contain costs and are using some graphics they got REAL cheap! Those are way worse than lousy. Those look like a computer mistake. Somebody had a deadline and got drunk the night before and that's all they could come up with! They do nothing fo the boat. I wouldn't want them on my boat or my car or anything else I owned!

I think this one is the worst. This is a 230 Sundeck.:smt009:smt009:smt009

wtf??? I have to agree. I can't even comprehend what the hell that design is supposed to do. I know what it does!!!!

On my new 270 SLX the grey strip on the bottom was a little nicked and MarineMax is replacing them. However, after thinking about it, and since my boat has a black hull, I'm just going to leave the stripe off and just have the SLX emblem on the hull. They said they liked that idea (keeping it clean) and the stripes were mine and if I ever wanted them put on they would do it for me.

I think you can get away with that on a black hull. Now if I had a white hull, they put a black strip along the waterline which I would keep because I think that adds to the hull. Not sure if a grey stripe on the waterline adds to the black.

However, whatever the hell design is on the boat you posted I think I would just have to have it removed. Think it might even increase the value of the boat!:lol:

The photos y'all posted are ugleeeeee...........!

But, Sea Ray usually sends boats with every option to photo shoots for ads and catalogs. I'm betting (hoping!) that is what we are seeing and that the stock boats will have the usually clean lines of a Sea Ray and we are seeing Sea Ray's take on the wake board/ski boat market.

Just keep in mind that some years ago, Sea Ray changed the radar arch so it sloped forward instead of back. We all thought, "man that'll never sell". See where we are now! Maybe the funky graphics will grow on the small boat guys too.

I think a small amount of graphics adds character- but big, odd shaped ones covering a large portion of the hullsides looks a bit tacky to me. Fine on a PWC, not on a boat.
Let a black hull bake in the sun for a few years with that vinyl here in FL and cross your fingers that SR still has replacement graphics in stock.

Regardless of what people think about vinyl and how long it lasts, it's crap and in 5 years it shows. My 20 Sea Doo bow rider/jet boat had graphics on the side and any docking of the boat was high stress because I didn't want to nick the vinyl... and I did.... PITA.

I think boats look great without all the vinyl crap pasted on the side. If it doesn't, get a different boat.

Hold up...I think I saw this design tattoo'd on some NJ chick's lower back this summer? Maybe the designer's girl had the "Tramp Patch" which provided the necessary design inspiration??

you guys need to see it in person, its not the design- its the "print"

it almost looks like they made it small and it looked good, then when they blew it up the size it needed to be on the boat it got blurry and very dot matrix looking.
Maybe they are trying to get in good with the Matrix crowd or something.

I think its more like plaid on meth

I already spoke my piece on the original post ( I believe I was actually the first one to comment on graphics )

ANyway...barf again. I would NOT be ordering a 2009 205 with those graphics. Keep them off completely or get wakeboard package graphics, which are pretty good.

Tramp Stamp. And they are waaaaayyy sexy on a chick! <insert drool emoticon>
