When I arrived at my marina yesterday, I noticed that my bow line looked like it had some slack in it. While adjusting it, I discovered that the bow of my boat was lightly resting on the bottom. The stern drive was not touching. I looked out towards the Bay, and noticed that the tide was about 3 foot below "normal" low tide. There is a sandbar near the island that is always submerged. I could see birds standing on it. I could see an extra 20 feet of the launch ramp. If I wanted to, I could have walked from my marina to the restaurant next door on the Bay side of the sea wall.
I couldn't find anything on the web about it. Did the Corps of Engineers pull the plug on the Bay? Maybe some fish down in Virginia need the water more than we do up here?
Anyone know?
