Wouldn't this area be all fiberglass? I wouldn't think they would take the time to form the ski locker out of wood and cover with fiberglass.

I have a 185 SPORT and it's not fun out in anything over 2ft chop. The boat will handle 2' chop but you have to remember the speed you can travel in chop is reduced considerably and forget about any water sports.

I have a 2006 185 sport and I'm seeing 4600/4700 at WOT with my 14 3/8 x 18 pitch prop on smooth water with the 1.81 gear ratio outdrive. I would think you would be fine running a 21 pitch and maybe even a 19 pitch high five prop.

Sfergson - Thanks for the tip on the counter sink, I pulled the hinge off and the celgoat was cracked on all the screws and two of them were bad. I patched up the two bad ones and counter sunk all the holes. Then I used a healty dose of marine sealant and reinserted the screws. I then moved on...

The counter sink would prevent the screw from contacting the gelcoat when screwing it in. I just did not think it would do this kind of damage. All the other holes are fine and look good.

So to counter sink the holes would you just get a bit 2/32 larger and drill deep enough to get thru the gelcoat? Do you think I'll have any problem re-tightening the screws after removing them? I can live with the crack as long as there is no further water damage. If water was to get under the...
