Well, I was able to fix this. Used a flat head screw driver to hold the interior nut in place and luckily was able to tighten the external nut. I would delete the post but not sure how.

I was at my boat a few days ago and did not see any holes on the top of the door. I know that there are holes on the underside of the door but that would mean taking the door out. Perhaps the 2006 is different than the 2004?
