Really? Here’s a pic from the place I keep my boat. This is a smaller 24’ boat. Blocks hold the weight. Stands stabilize it. Pretty easy and effective.
I’ve never understood this parallel concept with boat motor hours and your vehicle hours/miles. When was the last time you took your vehicle on 3hr road trip at RPM’s higher than 3k non stop? Not to mention the weight difference. Your vehicle doesn’t weigh over 10k lbs. Yikes.
Above are...
The data you’re finding, are you sure it’s with diesel’s? Most 360DA’s are gas powered. I realize diesel was an option though. Mine is well above 30 knots wide open with gas 8.1’s.
Nice. That’s a great spot too. My wife and I (and two daughters) love that whole area. Here’s a pic from Chambers Island back when we had our 320.
Where’s home base for you?
30 cents on the dollar? You serious? Maybe a regional thing but not at the marina I’m at in the Midwest despite the time of year. Send those listings my way!
This whole thing smells bad. I’m sorry you are going through this. It looks rotted out from the color……but my question is do you even have a title for the boat? I ask because of the registration and then moving the boat from state to state after it was “inherited”
Cut losses and get rid of it.
I was thinking the same thing with regards to the signed documents BUT figured there will be lawsuits because they are wealthy families.
Regardless it will be interesting to see how that all unfolds.
3.5 per side isn’t out of line. I’d be more concerned on why the replacement was so soon.
I always get a kick out of these threads. This is exactly why my mechanic doesn’t put down the hours….only the total labor, although people know his rate anyway. Cuts down on a lot of BS he says. He...
Jeez. Just let it go. How much do you think a 17 year old 340 is worth? Total it and be done….he already said estimates are NORTH of 130k. Don’t get sucked down the rabbit hole of buying it back and all the headaches that come with it. Seems simple to me.
I think this was mentioned above but it sounds like you can do both which is great! Over the past 5 years there has been a drastic change in the retail customer, their expectations, and their overall attitude in my opinion (I’m trying to be polite). It can wear retail salespeople out. I see...
when you say retail….what type of industry are you talking about if you don’t mind me asking. I went from wholesale to retail and it’s been interesting.
My dock neighbor is selling his pristine 2012 280 Sundancer. Freshwater only. 380hrs. Newer style so it’s a 8’10” beam. Awesome layout in cockpit. Custom aluminum trailer included too. PM me if you want his info.
To the OP, I’m sorry this happened. So after the marina made the repair you took the boat and used it all summer and now are questioning the repair? Did their repair hold up over summer or is there an issue now? Regardless, good advice above.
For what it’s worth my 8.1’s at 3200-3500 rpm have never reached 180 according to the smartcraft gauge. Both sides read 160-163 consistently. I’d start with the impeller and work from that point.
I’ve seen the same thing at my marina in Wisconsin at this time of the season.
There will be a correction coming…..but EVERY fall folks on the sidelines say the same thing….in reality no kidding there are more boats on the market. Happens EVERY year at this time in Wisconsin LOL! And there...
