I haven't seen to many new installs for new electronics on the 1993 370 sundancer so I thought I would post mine. I am upgrading my old electronics from the Raytheon SL70 radar with radome, the Garmin GPS 230, and an old Garmin fish finder. Also while doing so I will be upgrading my stereo. I wanted a unit that would integrate everything in to one unit. Simrad GO9 XSE with radar and total scan was the unit to do the job. I am also using the Fusion MS-BB300 with remote to integrate through NMEA2000 network. All my speakers were shot as well so I bought 2 pair of infinity marine speakers, 6.5 inch, and 1 set of 6x9 infinity marine speakers. I will also be installing SiriusXM satellite radio as this is important to me while on the lake with limited radio options. The wired fusion remote on the NMEA2000 network was important as it has a rotary know that will allow me to turn up or down the volume on the stereo.
My boat is stored an hour and a half away so install will be in several pieces. I also have to wait to install my new radome when I am just about ready to put the boat in at the beginning of April. It is currently shrink wrapped over the old radar unit. I have removed the old electronics displays. I had to buy a new piece of plastic to cut new holes in where the old electronics sat. I bought a piece of black seaboard from US plastics. I have cut the new piece into the trapezoid shape and it turned out really well. Next I had to cut the new holes for the new Simrad display unit as well as the fusion wired remote. I will keep this thread updated as I continue to work on this. But so far in the early phase things are turning out really well.
