40 sedan bridge forum

I can tell you this, that's not an easy job. Get substantial financial compensation or make them repair it.

Has anybody applied SeaDek to the cockpit area?? Where you happy with the results?/ Would anybody have a copy of the dimension of the cockpit?

I have it on my gunnel steps and steps to the bridge.

I made a template for the cockpit when I cut out my woven vinyl flooring. You would need to do the same to know the exact fit. But its roughly a 7' x 11' area. Sorry about the crappy cell phone picture quality.

Hi Bill,
Do you have a pic of your final results? And what product did you use?

John, see posts 967 and 968 in this thread. FYI, anxiously awaiting results of round 2 of your oil sample experience.

Nice. Looks great.
And I'm anxiously awaiting the results too! Hopefully tomorrow.

That's infinity flooring, not SeaDek. I think it's very different.

True. Just wanted to let him know he probably needed to make a template regardless of the floor type. And to show him what the template would look like for the cockpit.

I tore the screen on the screen door and will have to replace the screen. I looked at the door and it does not appear to come out easy unless I take the glass doors out. I tried lifting the rollers and pulling the door out, but no luck. Is there a trick to getting the screen door out, or am I going to have to put the screen in with the door still installed? The glass doors do not look that hard to remove.....they just look heavy.

Also, I installed blue LED lights on the rear and they look great. Nice touch for not a whole lot of money.

Keith

I have a 98 400 Sedan Bridge and the salon heat/air is controlled by and SMX II. The fan is running at full-speed no matter what it is set on. Any thoughts?

Check the minimum fan speed setting in the programming menu, it probably isn't set correctly.

Be warned, people often set the fan speed higher to solve freeze over issues due to low refrigerant.

This is a dumb question but how do I get access to the salon a/c unit? I know it is under the steps to the galley but I can't figure out how to get to it.

There are four screws in the stairs holding it in place. Two on the outer corners of the top step. And two on the outer lower corners of the bottom riser. The heads of the screws are buried under the carpet strips on the stairs. You have to poke around and hunt for them.

Question about the Radar mount hight. My mount is 2 feet. But I feel it should be higher. Here's some pics. I really don't feel like getting a bunch of radiation in my skull as I sit at the helm. Are there any other remedies for this other than installing a new, taller mount? I was think about some type of block. Anyone else? Here's some pics...

Can't help much with this one, John. But congrats. You bought it!

Thanks, Bill. Yes, we pulled the trigger on her. We just love this boat. Now to the long task of thoroughly cleaning her and doing all the little things to make her "ours."

BTW - your radar mount definitely looks taller than mine. Mine is 2'. I wonder if yours is 3'. I'm pretty sure mine is stock from the factory (the boat was purchased from the factory with the Furuno radar package). I wonder if they realized it was too low and added a longer mount for later models.
