Thank you Jaws... Found a 2003 tha that looks nice also what is your feelings on the 480CE motors with less than 1000 hours?

I can't comment on the 480CE motors personally but there is quite a bit of information available. See page 109 on this thread for example. When this semi-electronic version of the C series was introduced for 2003, it grabbed extra power by spinning up the motor. So the 460DA went from a propeller size of 23 X 26 to 23 X 27, a full inch on an already over-propped boat. I currently run either a 25" or 25.5" pitch, having two sets of props in order to get a safe 75-100 rpm above WOT.
Cummins sorted out most of the early issues but there is the occasional story of someone who had a much later issue. Bottom line is the 480CE should be propped similar to the mechanical 6CTA.

I have been on the boat for two week. Getting more work don’t than ever on it. Added these petcocks to the racor fuel filters.
Will make servicing much easer in the future.

No red dye in your diesel fuel in Utah? Never seen that before.

Watch the 480. My buddy has an 05 39 MY and is in the middle of a $22,000 rebuild.

no red dye on our lake pumps.
We do have red dye fuel that is mainly for agriculture farms and such.

Your fuel has the road tax included. Can you file for a refund of the road tax? In Virginia, if you put non dyed fuel in your boat, you can get a refund from dmv.

I need to look into that as I spent 8k on fuel last year. Yes ours has the road tax in the cost.

Josh, The Sea Ray part number is 1756218 68 degree 2 speed 2 inch shaft. You might try Wexco Industries. I know they have been used by Sea Ray in the past. That part number is from the 2005 manual.

My 2000 460DA has the same problem and of course it happened right after I put on a new blade. Still not sure if I will replace it.

What are the best replacement speakers? Mine have fragmented like a previous post also pointed out.

While JL"s are great they are also $$$. I have had them and admit they were good.... But all things considered I get about 2 years out of a set of speakers no matter the brand in the marine enviroment. I switched to Kicker this year since they are 1/2 the price and I can tell you they sound great. I even took my kids advise and stepped up for the LED package and I love them. If I can get 2 years out of them I will be happy and ahead $$$.

I put JL marine speakers in my boat and they are awesome. I recommend them. Also not a paid advertisement.

I thought about the statement above and decided to add this addition: You might ask why I think these speakers are awesome and here is the reason; I have some hearing loss from being in combat without hearing protection. As compared to the speakers that I replaced, the JL speakers give me hearing clarity with no noted distortion and I can hear all ranges from the high to the low notes. I can crank the volume up and "feel" the music without the speakers creating any unwanted vibration. I am happy to have replaced my old speakers with these and didn't realize how crappy the old speakers had been until the replacement.
