460 DA Owners Thread

For those with the cockpit air, have you developed or reconfigured the air outlet so that it isn’t blowing directly into the bell?

would love to see pictures of what you did
i made what i saw

I have two transducers, one for depth and one for speed and temp. There both probable original. Looking to change and upgrade while out of the water. Anyone replace the factory ones? original equipment was raymarine and new GPS is Garmin 8600. i only need depth / temp. View attachment 120212 View attachment 120213
When I upgraded the electronics on my 420 in January 2020, I too went from Raymarine to Garmin. I changed the Raymarine Depth transducer to a Garmin DST 800 Airmar Smart Triducer. $239 with help from Emily at BOE Marine. It gave me depth, speed and water temp and just plugged into the NEMA 2000 network extension that I ran to the engine room. The other transducer that came from the factory on my boat was in the forward part of the engine room bilge. It was a paddle wheel speed sensor. It may have had temp at one time but it never worked as long as I owned the boat. I removed that and inserted the blank plug.

Bought new Tachs form flounder pounder... Anyone know the MFGR? or where we can send to have the hours programmed??

updating the hours is not possible. The standard practice is to take pictures of the current hours on the old tachs. Put those in your log. Install the new tachs and save the actual old tachs for the next owner when selling the vessel.

I have this issue and my logs now read something like oil change on stbd engine at 639.5 hours shown on 1/31 with actual hours being 1739.5.

Has anyone added a wireless remote to the hydraulic swim platform? I added a generic one to the windless on my old boat that came with a waterproof floating remote. Was super easy to add to the relay. But not sure about the platform...

Sorry, but I'm jumping on this question with "has anyone added a generic remote to their cablemaster ? "

Great idea. I bet that’s even easier to find than what would be necessary for the platform. This is the one I added on my windless on my old boat. Worked great and would probably be easy to add to the relay on the cablemaster. But not sure if everything on our 460s is 24v. If so that may be a problem for this model. Can’t find a 24v like this one.

Glen denning makes them both. I have one on my cable master.

I totally get it but I’m a sucker for OEM. You know we have a yacht management company and overall it’s just not worth the time and effort to invent an alternative to work someone has already done.

just to clarify the other post above. 460’s don’t have 24v. All is 12v dc.

I also took pictures .. printed them out and taped them to the back side of the instrument panel and put a set in my log book with the dates on them. .

"460’s don’t have 24v. All is 12v dc." I guess our boats are different.

DC voltage: I have 24V for the GHS hydraulic swim platform and the Vetus Bow Thruster. I recently added a stern thruster and used the 24V bank for that too. There is a 24V 30A converter inside the transom wall. Everything else is 12V.

Remotes: I have 2 wireless remotes for the GHS hydraulic swim platform and one for the Cablemaster. I use the remote for the platform a lot but hardly ever use the Cablemaster remote. Check with GHS for a remote. Depends on your core motor; mine is the blue motor.

Oops. I stand corrected. I forgot about you all who have cheaters, I mean thrusters and platforms.

I should have said that 460’s don’t have a 24v panel but you’re right and I’m wrong. Apologies for sure and thanks for posting that.

No problem, LOL.
Yes, but those items add weight for sure.

For my 460 brothers.

If you are running free air subs in the stock holes and not happy with the bass output.
I added these to the dead space under the back cockpit seat.
10” kicker square subs. 1200 watt amp.
They put out a nice clean clear hard bass and Complement the free air subs I already have.
Total speakers in the boat now 12 with around 3000 watts behind them. I know crazy but I like my Music when on the boat.

Mine came with one from a previous owner. It is an amazing upgrade to just unplug from shore and walk along the dock with the remote in one hand and the plug in the other as it winds itself.

What year is yours? Wondering if my 2001 has a GHS platform?

So the level gauge on my fresh water tank will read full when it’s full and then 3/4. But it sticks at 3/4. Anyone changed the sending unit? Know where to get one?

2002.
I believe that GHS was offered in 2001 and maybe earlier as an option installed by Florida Bow Thrusters at the selling dealership. You can tell a GHS platform because it is deploys on arms that extend the platform aft. T'NT platforms used earlier slide up and down.
