Be careful to whom you cast aspersions of idiocy if in doing so, you mis-spell pail, my friend.
:smt043:smt043:smt043......
This thread reminds me of the time my buddy dropped a dollar into an old fashioned outhouse at a highway rest stop. He swore, opened his wallet, pulled out a $20 bill then tossed the $20 in too.
I said “You idiot, why did you do that?” He replied “You didn’t think I was going to go down there just to get a dollar, did you?”
timinfla2,
What is your point in defending throwing trash out? I get it that you don't do it but give it a rest. You have stirred some emotions here and need to accept the concequences. And your "tiny little brain" & "aspersions of idiocy" rant is quite revealing even if it is a "pissing contest" & a "shortsighted attack on me". If you think there are some members here who aren't as enlightened as you and therefore have no business posting well KMA. Hope I did not mispell anytheng.

This thread, in my mind, goes to the top 3 of classic threads here. Very entertaining.
Won't even address the original subject matter.
I think that this "edgy entertainment" is a mere spin-off from off-season boating cabin fever. I think that you will find that it is an annual phenomenon that will soon wane after we turn our attention to more important things such as the new boating season. Get those veins back into your foreheads lads and go back to your corners. I feel that we all have good intentions here, so let's call call this one a draw and let this thread die before there is some senseless blood-letting.
~Ken
In an effort to encourage camaraderie this beer may be fittingCouldn't agree more, Ken - that's probably the most perceptive post thus far - mea culpa, let's all be buds. I'll buy everybody here a virtual beer - gladly a real one if you guys are on any of the trips coming up.

To: timinfla2. What kind of fool are you! Sure, throw your beer cans in the water, I don't care if it's fresh or salt. You are an idiot!! Take your boat on an inland pond and drive it around, no one will complain except the fish! If you have enough ***** to respond, here's my email mrm822@comcast.net. I'm waiting.
There was another guy here that used to toss his bottles in the water:
They don't make Schlitz in cans any more. Only bottles.Legal or not, why throw it in the water? I was snorkelling in the Caribbean two weeks ago, and was amazed at how much plastic debris was just floating in the currents all over the reef. Big pieces, little pieces, tiny pieces. It is everywhere.
Dropping your sunglasses over the gunwale by accident, throwing your blackberry in the drink out of rage, or losing your cooler in high seas are all understandable. Tossing an empty six-pack of Schiltz into the drink is just senseless.
If you're interested in the science side of this thread (as it relates to plastic), read this article: http://discovermagazine.com/2008/jul/10-the-worlds-largest-dump
but I bet NAMBLA will. Enjoy the newsletter, friend.
