aluminum cans in ocean?

Suggestion...exchange phone numbers and get it over with.

Yes, that's a great way to really show who's a man - instead of challenging me to an email argument, he's going to take it up a level and yell at me over the phone.

No thanks, Chris - there's nothing to be gotten over with - this was over when I washed my hands of the whole thing earlier today. Sometimes you have to be the bigger man.

10 pages on aluminum cans? I just couldn't quit reading this post. It's like watching a train wreck.

I'm sure many here are very serious with their beliefs and opinions but damn it turned out as a funny read.

PS....they say you must pack out your growlers in a plastic bag on many hiking trails these days. Now that's fun!

Still waiting for my 80 year anodes. Since I've been reading 10 pages of this thread, half my anodes have disappeared !! Maybe I should have wished for the 200 year ones ???

Timinfla2. It's obvious we don't like you're pontificating and slandering. My email is there if you want to respond. I bet you don't!

"your" would have been the proper word, but...

Who is "we"? Please dont speak for the general population here, as I havent seen Tim do either in this thread. I dont agree with all he has said, but he HAS said it eloquently.

And are you really serious with the respond via email?:smt100

OK, I wasn't going to comment.....But I just can't help myself. It is almost like the ghost of "Wingless" lives on.... I thought Jim removed him from our presence, but who really knows what lives on in the mind of man....?

Yes, I'm done with this mess. Throw your cans where you want to, but not anywhere near me!

Who freakin' stole my beer? I had it sitting RIGHT HERE!!!

Everyone seems to be having so much fun with this thread, how about this? Aluminium is an element, it can not be created or destroyed, it may change chemnical composition but it will always be out there, glass which is made from silica sand and soda ash is another inorganic product that will never go way it will just change form, back into sand. Organic things disappear quicly, paper, apple cores; inorganic things last for ever; it is the inorganic/organic things like plastics that are a real problem, they can not degrade into anything only break up into smaller pieces---note their lives.

Have fun

B.S. I guess you didn't read the previous thread regarding how long it takes aluminium cans to disintergrate. Besides ALUMINNUM as an element in its pure form is organic, but after it has been manufactured becomes something diffrerent. Bottom line, the freaking ocean is NOT a garbage dump!!! Save your beer cans for the hobos!!!

Ever wonder how many thousands of ships were lost at sea during WWI and WWII loaded with all kinds of metals and fuel, millions of gallons of lubricants, powders, liquids of all kinds, etc?

Until recently, cruise liners dumped their garbage overboard. Submarines compact it and eject it to the bottom.

No, I don't condone dumping any trash into the waters but the above is something to think about...

BTW, I too have Meatloaf in my Ipod...

" Besides ALUMINNUM as an element in its pure form is organic,"

If this is the case, I'm going to dig up the vege patch and put in a row or two of Bravo II and Bravo III Quicksilver Anodes, should make a fortune !!! The 80 to 200 year ones !!!
