Anchoring to stob fish tailing in the wind

Lordy, we need a flashing thread icon that shows when it (the thread) went off the
tracks. :) It would be an interesting study to see how many posts it takes for this to happen. I'm sure there are some statistics showing some kind of a trend - HA!
 
Don't take it too seriously Ugg (or should we call you baot?). We're only fooling around.

No boating makes us a little crazy. Those all weather boaters have no excuse.
I have no idea why they can't just stick to posts related to boating. :huh:

Great idea, but the threads that stay on track need to flash. Otherwise, we would all have epilectic seizures from watching the icons flashing all over the dang place.

This is an interesting approach. I have a heck of time keeping my 280 anchored in wind due to the swinging. I point into the wind as you recommend but the swing always breaks me loose. The swing is identical to Gary's illustration but I tried his method with a homemade bridal and didn't have any luck. It seems like the bow cleats are too close on the 280 to absorb any of the swing.

Using Gary's illustration, would your suggestion look like the following?

Try it again. I used one several times this past season and it worked perfectly..

Good idea! Although I do get a small amount of entertainment reading how far off track some of the threads get! :lol:

Yes it was home made... I put a figure eight on a bite in the anchor line, along with another one mid-way on the bridle connecting them with a locking D-ring

For the bridle line I used a dock line connecting the starboard side cleat with the factory loop and another figure eight on a bite to the cleat on the port side. It worked great. we only swung (swang, swunged, swinged) a few degrees either way
 
Good work on the rope bridle. Nice use of the D-lock. Will definitely try that one...we have wind all the time here!

*I'm all sweet on the spelling...just having a laugh myself. It's just the events of 1778 stunted the development of the language in your parts. :)*

Exactly how I rigged it but it had zero affect on my swanging. Hmmm....maybe I need to give it another shot.
