Bad news, as some of you read in my prior thread, we were reevaluating our boating needs and had decided it might be time to sell the Sea Ray and get a bigger CC. Well just to see what kind of interest I could generate, I put her on CL last week. Well, had a guy come today to "look" at her. He fell in love and offered me asking price in cash. I accepted. Not sure if it was the right move as it happened so fast, but with many of the life changes we've made of late, I believe if it's meant to happen, it will. He is a family man who is passionate about boating and super excited about the purchase so I believe she's going to a good home.

So for the other news, we are moving to a new home this Friday that is on the river with ocean access and a boat lift. This is why we feel it's best to have a CC vs the cabin as our boating is going to be much more day trips vs staying on the boat at the marina. So the good news....after much consideration and looking at brands/models (and a lot of discussion with Rusty;) we have fell in love with the mid 90's Sea Ray Laguna 24' CC boats. So we will be staying in the SR family!!!!!! :) I have my eye on one right now that has twin Honda outboards that will be great for days trips and still a sound enough boat for our Bahama trips. So thanks to everyone, once again for all your support and advise. I will dearly miss my WE, but look forward to starting this next boating chapter.

Lol, you are right. I'm very happy about that. It just happened so quick that I think I just wasn't mentally prepared to let go. I do have a few weeks with her yet. He's not coming after it until the end of the month.

Shawn looks like Florida is working out for you both. Good luck with the new house and have fun looking for that new boat.

Congrats on the quick sale and good luck in your new home Shaun!

Congrats, can you handle all that speed of a cc with twins?I hope mine sells that fast, just listed her today.

Oh, I'm sure I'll be ok. ;) Good luck with yours!

I assume you got full asking price because of the "Rusty slept here" sign you placed on the aft bench?

That, and that alone is why I got full asking price. I did tell him that Mr. Sea Ray himself has spent some time on the boat!

Selling a 26 year old sea water cooled boat in your present environment is a good move. I did not want to dampen your enthusiasm for the move, but that was not the right boat for long term South Fla. You weren't there quite yet, but at some point soon, the repair costs were going to begin to add up. A Laguna is a heavy well, made boat. I looked for a single engine model for 3 years but was always late. I ended up with a Whaler, but my preference was the Laguna. Take care of a Laguna and she'll take you anywhere you want to go. Who knows......it may be like the one in Rusty's back yard.......with gelcoat sprayed by Rusty himself. For giggles, you should get him to run down the HIN# and see.

Thanks Frank. I realize that now as well. I just didn't want to be boatless so it felt like the right move. Also, I have already given the HIN to Rusty.....and yes, it's a boat built by Mr. Sea Ray himself!! He's been a tremendous help to me.

Congrats Shaun. What a great story you are living. In my opinion, you and Heather seem to be making some great decisions.

ps.... Save some of that cash for next summers Homecoming trip! Either that or host a big house warming party at your new place & invite all of us here on CSR,

I think a CSR housewarming/homecoming sounds like a great idea!!!!!

Very cool. Congratulations. The Luguna is sweet. I've looked at a couple last year and would like to have one for a day boat eventually. Glad it is going so well my friend!

To list your boat and sell that quickly for your asking price.

I think you should be very happy, and as you said was obviously meant to be.

Enjoy the new one
