Get well soon. Rusty.

Met him years ago in St Pete when he was doing to L65 tour . Great guy!

Get well soon Rusty. We are all pulling for your full recovery.

Speedy recovery Captain. Best wishes to you

My Brothers son in law had to deal with this doctor blow it off for close to a year second opinion did surgery and the hardest thing for him was getting off the pain meds they used to get him through the treatments.

Frank, Thanks for the update. Prayers to Rusty and his family. I know all too well about recovery been out of pocket for a while. I had dual transplants last October. Thanks to prayers and gods help I'm doing great. The doctors can't believe how good I'm doing.

Obviously we’re all praying for a speedy recovery Rusty, I know you’ll be fine your a tough dude DANG IT !!! you just do what they tell you to do and we’ll see you around XMAS.

Thank you for the update Frank, prayers are with him.

Rusty, having gone through a very similar course 6yrs ago, I know you will navigate it to success. Best wishes for you and yours.

Godspeed in your recovery. And God Bless your family for thier support. I would not have made the recovery I did had it not been for my family.

One more thing, find something to keep you moving, do not just sit around. Something you enjoy.

Just before I had the operation I got a car back from the body shop in new paint, ready to reassemble. That was my therapy car, I worked on it for 2yrs to finish, it should have taken me two months. But it helped me get my upper body strength back and my stamina up. I remember it took me 6hrs to get the front bumper on- a 45min job.

This was my therapy:

One more thing-my entire perspective on life changed. I don't sweat the small stuff anymore and cherish my family even more. I'm no longer the hard ass I used to be...but can still be an asshole, I have less patience in certain circumstances.

Good luck Rusty, hope you are seeing all the support you have here.

Very nice... A 69 Ford Torino?

From one cancer survivor to another... "you can do this..." Godspeed Rusty!

Thanks for putting this out there Frank. Rusty definitely has the right attitude about carrying this one through to a great outcome and has made all the right calls about doing everything possible for a long term success

Frank thanks for the CSR Family info as we all are sure he can navigate the rough water ahead. Having his family, support network and the CSR family praying for him will get him through. He’s one tough cookie who can handle this with our support. Looking forward to catching up with him and God speed for his health & recovery.

Never met the man, the LEGEND but have heard of many of his adventures, what he's shared and what he's taught.

Rusty is the Captain of his TEAM HIGGINS and I'm sure he will stay on course and make this run safely.

BEST !

A friend and I were killing some time before going to the airport. We walked into the Merritt Island plant, there sat Rusty in an office by the door. He got up and asked if we needed help. 2 minutes later we were getting a personal tour of the entire plant. Sea Ray must miss this man. Prayers to him and his family, such a gentleman.

Thank you Frank for the sharing the update.

Prayers for a fast and complete recovery Rusty!

Life is what it is, and nobody can change that. We are dealt a new hand each time we sit down at the table or wake up in the morning.

By reading all your writings, a couple of quotes hit home right away, and for years past. My current condition is on the road to recovery and after completing radiation treatment in the near future, I will then think of these past six months as just an unexpected roadblock in my life, which required a slight delay. Nothing more because I will not give it that C word the satisfaction of rudely intruding into my logbook…..I have too many chores needing done to be sitting home in the barko-lounger saying whoa is me.

What I do see in this thread more than anything else is the comradery, the longevity and outright friendship that I have enjoyed, and have known either through this site or in person. The qualifying truth to that statement is that I have real stories on a lot of you. I have been with you and have created, or shared sea faring tales, over an adult beverage, or ten. How rich am I!

I thought I would thank each of you personally for such kind and considerate words, but realized that would have me mentioning the whole damn thread. Please know when I read your post, I took it very personally and felt your presence, I promise. The only one I will not let off the hook is my partner in participation, and true friend for more years than we both want to mention for age disclaimer reasons. Frank has helped me with sound advice when I was an employee many years ago. He has advised me with solid approaches on how to retire from a company of 34 years and monetize my name and skills for my own benefit. And even today the guy checks on me right regularly. He begins by saying “don’t want to bother you,” I chuckle under my breath, and we talk for forty-five minutes or better. I won’t butter his bread anymore other than to say, thank you once AGAIN Mr. Webster!

Again gentlemen, I am truly humbled by you responding to Frank’s update on my status. Prefect motivation and encouragement postings to endure my current situation. To me, I just need to get tougher than woodpecker lips for the next month or so, and yearn to get back behind the helm. A month not on the water makes this captain a miserable man!
