Two weeks on the hard and we are finally back in the water. Fresh bottom paint, clean gear and a new set of bellows on the PSS shaft seals was all we really needed to address.
Since we had a water intrusion issue on the initial sea trail and were unable to make full power or SOG numbers, this morning during our 1.5 hour run back to Benicia we were able to open her up and see what she would do. All trimmed out at 2650 RPM we saw 22 kts SOG in slack tide and smooth water. Not bad for a 49000 lb floating condo.
Another week or so for the transaction to complete with lawyers and bankers doing there thing and we will be Carver owners.
