2006 44SB Under Contract!

Hello All

We have a contract on a 2009 44SB, pending inspection, survey, mechanical and sea trial. This is a big jump up for us in boats as we previously/ currently have had only inland run-abouts and ski boats and I have had a mid 30’ sail boat on the Chesapeake. But when the wife said let’s get a boat that we can go places in I knew it was the right time! We are approaching retirement and with some health challenges that she has been having the past couple years it gives a new perspective on what is important and when.

So will have tons of questions and have been diving into the wealth of knowledge in the forums. we have been working with a fantastic broker that is leading through the process so far. But we are in Virginia and the boat is in Florida. So any recommendations on surveyors, Cummins techs and delivery / training captains in the Ponce Inlet FL area that I can send to our broker would be greatly appreciated. Also any things or areas of concern for this model that we should be looking for?

Thanks and looking forward to officially joining the club!

Welcome aboard! Best of luck with your purchase. There is a wealth of info here on this site along with some very helpful people who have a tremendous amount of experience.

Congratulations and best of luck!
Where in Florida is the boat?

Hmm.. this may be a bit of travel time, but I used southeastern marine power in St Pete and they were very good.
Authorized Cummins/Mercruiser service and Zeus qualified (which I needed)

Fairly priced given their credentials.

Edit:
the service guys i used were in Pensacola, but they have an office in St Pete as well.

Welcome, sorry my surveyor and engine guys are here in Ft Lauderdale and don't go that far north.

Welcome aboard and best of luck with the survey
Thank you!

If you’re talking about Shane, he is one of the absolute best.
